His promos were rough and probably didn't help, but when you see him here or are at SummerSlam 1990, he's still a ball of fire and that IC Title run just looks a massive waste. The only feud he had was based around Teddy costing him the belt.

Yeah wasn’t saying you suggested that. Just meant that he’d sadly probably already peaked early in his WWF stint winning the IC title and was never gonna go any further. You’re right though, if things were different you’d think he could’ve at least had a proper run with that IC belt. Could possibly even have been the one to eventually drop it to Shawn in 92, although then you probably don’t get Bulldog vs Bret at Wembley so fuck knows?

It had been bugging me for the last couple of days trying to think where I’d seen this match before. And then it clicked, it was on the WWE Unreleased: Never Before Seen Matches 1986-1995 DVD set they put out a few years ago.

Theres some real curiosities on it. 
- Jake Roberts v Rick Martel in a practise run of the Blindfold Match from Wrestlemania VII. 
- A 1991 Undertaker v Ultimate Warrior Casket Match which admittedly isn’t very good but is possibly one of the first ones ever?. 
- Jake Roberts v “Mr Madness”
- Bret v Bulldog in a practise run two months ahead of their bout at Summerslam 92. 
- Undertaker v Bam Bam Bigelow from early 1993. 
- The Toxic Turtles in a “we can’t put that on telly Vince, we’ll get sued” match. 
- Tryout matches for Tatanka (War Eagle), The Smoking Gunns (Kip Winchester & Brett Colt, can’t imagine why those names didn’t catch on) and Taz (The Tazmaniac). 
- Bret v Anvil for the WWF Title. 
- Razor v Jeff Jarrett in a Ladder Match that really should’ve been on In Your House to blow off the feud

Theres also some complete dross on there, but if you can find it cheap enough it’s a decent little set

I can't believe they uploaded a Furface career retrospective. Gobsmacked by that going up. A real actual human sitting there having to put it together for a wage and everything. Sincere about that aswell, I absolutely love Furface/The Mariner. That's the kind of thing i'd want but never have the nerve to ask a trader to make for me. 

If they're taking requests then there's still more ECW stuff I want to see. Tons of things that went out on TV clipped and cut down. The Impact Players/Jado/Gedo match from 2000 is a big one. Probably mentioned this in this thread already but I will always ask for a pro shot of that August 2000 Hammerstein weekend. No idea what the state of ECW's tapes are like though because it seems like everything on TV went out edited in some way. Hopefully they kept everything.

It’s believed it was meant to air on either the October 11th 1986 or November 22nd 1986 edition of Wrestling Challenge. They were 3 different Snake Pits with Hogan on it filmed between those dates, one of which is rumoured to have had Hogan taking the DDT. So the story goes the DDT got a massive face reaction for Jake, and plans for a feud were immediately cancelled and the segment was pulled from the episode.

You can quite easily find the two segments that aired were the feud is teased but ultimately they don’t come to blows, and the November 22nd segment is also on the Jake Roberts ‘Pick Your Poison’ DVD

Having just watched Sean Mooney’s latest podcast, talking about This Tuesday in Texas, they mentioned about the rest of that card that was unseen - including Flair v Piper and load of tryouts etc. I would love for them to put something like that out. Hope someone asks for it*

It's nice that the WWE Vault team wrote that response. With that in mind, what are the outstanding holy grails in terms of wrestling footage/memorabilia? 

For me, the one that I always think of is the photo of Bret Hart having a tug-of-war with Hulk Hogan over the WWF World title from 1993. If we accept that Bret is a credible narrator (and we should, given he was keeping contemperaneous accounts throughout his time in wrestling) then the photo must exist though no one has ever managed to find a copy of it so far.

Thing is I think Steve Taylor or Tom Buchanan might be the people to know about that as the Fed photographers rather than the footage archivest.

Yeah, I reached out to Tom Buchanan a couple of years ago the last time I thought about this. I have done so again today; if anything comes of it I'll post here about it!

Apparently Cima v Jamie Noble DID happen, however, so I would like to see that if they can find it.
