There's been a lot of talk about how this final shows how shit the Europa League format has become without CL "relegations", but all it tells me is that maybe the other big European leagues should think about their structural/operational make-up that leads to such a drop-off in quality outside their big two or three teams.

Put it this way: if it relies so much on the main-eventers dropping down to give the card some star power and match quality, perhaps those leagues should find ways to make new stars. 

It's either that, or UEFA restrict CL qualification to the top two of every European league, but they won't do that.

This is very much a WCW Thunder final, which is ironic as that was always on Thursdays as well.

Given how United have turned into a bit of a banter club now, this is more the DDT Iron-man Heavymetalweight final.

That talk is nonsense anyway from my perspective. Despite (arguably) being historically the tougher competition to win, it's part of the way competitions are diluted to cater to the big boys and this is just more of the shitting on something. The fact that certain "not quite good enough" teams - I'm looking at you Seville - used to essentially get two shots and try to farm the lesser competition made the whole thing look considerably worse then a couple of sides having an off year doing well in it.

We live in a world where people try and belittle things like the FA Cup and it's just stupid.  Yeah, it's funny to meme on and laugh at Spurs and United but sod it, seeing a team from Norway getting a decent shot and their amazing run makes it all worth it. 

Given the highlight of my season has been seeing Cambridge relegated and beating Hollywood FC twice, I'm not going to shit on anyone else getting a big final day out... Well except Posh but you can't have everything.

I never want to see Chelsea actually play in the competition, but I always find myself a little jealous on Europa final day. The most beautiful trophy in the game.

I cannot fucking believe this. Doesn't quite feel real.

Shared a beautiful moment with my 12yo as it sank in that we were about to win it. It was when it hit the side netting and went out for the goal kick.

And I just looked at her and said "mate we're gonna fucking win this" and we embraced and had a bit of a cry (well, I did) No one else I'd have wanted to share that with, as while football is a communal experience, it's the personal moments that mean the most to me.

Absolutely made up for her as she will absolutely bowl into school in the morning with bragging rights for once. 

Made up for every single Spurs fan, the ones I know out in Bilbao, the ones at WHL tonight and all of you sods in here. We deserve this.

We're going to the game Sunday, and absolutely cannot wait to see them walk round with that trophy. 

Up Ange, up the fucking Spurs, up the fucking High Road.
