Have seen people suggesting that the dagger reward was what recent reports were referring to talking about producers having to scrap something completely as the new Traitors US series was recorded around the same time & have just aired the scarecrow task with the winning player receiving something different for use at the round table. So it appears to be them picking the 3 traitors caused this - I will spoiler tag it for anyone watching the US one

  Hide contents

The chance to reverse the banishment decision at the roundtable and give whoever was voted for another chance

This also aired on Canada's version last week before the US Airing

That alternative US dagger reward:

Spoiler

Can anyone explain why that would be good? Maybe they scrapped it for the UK one as it sounds shite. Why would the person with a dagger, whether they were a faithful or a traitor, ever go against what the group has voted? No combination of Traitor/Faithful with a dagger is saving any Traitor/Faithful are they, as whatever combination it is draws massive suspicion on the dagger holder.

Unless I'm being dull and missing sonething here?

As soon as they came around to the final vote I knew it was going to be this episode's cliffhanger. Unless they're somehow spending an hour showing the traitors deliberating over who to murder on Thursday this week's murder will be of little consequence. I guess they could murder Romesh or Bash to try and put a little heat in the direction of Michael, but whoever gets voted out the other one more than likely gets banished next. All three of them getting to be put forward for the special dagger was pretty funny.

Unless at least one of the traitors messes up massively or they start trying to throw each other under the bus I honestly can see the final being them and one faithful, as anticlimactic as that may seem.

I must say this is the worst Traitors I've seen. It's now on as my partner wants to keep it on but I'm not really fussed. Previously every series has had people you really don't want to win and people you really can get behind. You kind of need of need some to be Traitors. The two Traitors who aren't James Acaster are boring as fuck.

It certainly wasn't helped by the biggest name on the show absolutely blowing his cover on the first episode. The producers will have selected him for a reason and must have been absolutely pulling their hair out when he fucked it. That's the game though. I agree it's not been a great season since, but there's enough entertainment value to keep me tuning in.

What a weird season this has been. Two traitor's openly outing themselves haha. At least Maya's boring run to the final looks like it will end in banishment.

Do we think James A reported breakdown happened at this round table? It looked like it from the bizarre editing job.

Love this show but this has been a strange one for sure.

Big fan of Blunt getting it completely wrong (and owning it, to be fair to him) time and time again before finally hitting the nail square on the head with his theories about Acaster and Maya. Interesting to see how it plays out from here for him.

We had to rewind the bit where Kenny said “as a traitor myself” at the round table about 5 times. Obviously it got overshadowed by James A later on, but…?????

Also I don’t think Maya handled being questioned well. It’s normal to be defensive but it wasn’t smooth. Interesting to compare that and the faithfuls who sat there and said “what have you got?” And took the questioning and suspicions reasonably well.

Still the biggest thing coming out of that episode, was why didn’t the traitors get rid of Michael instead of Sharon? Whatever logic they said after the reveal was piss weak. My wife said it might have been James B sabotaging them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were steered by production because it’s been such a meandering series, and at least Michael gives them some oomph.

The Traitors seem to be working on the logic that confusion is their best weapon; if they take out people that can't be traced back to one or two people's suspicions, it just leaves people guessing, and in fairness, up until this episode that was largely working and suspicions weren't going anywhere near the actual Traitors. It's hard to tell if that's them playing a good game, or them playing a bad game and the Faithfuls playing a worse one.

Do the Traitors get another recruitment, or is it just down to the two of them for the remainder of the series now? Because both for them and for the series, I think the most interesting thing that could happen now would be Michael getting recruited.

Is t it the final episode tonight? Surely that’s it for recruiting and we’re just going to the finish

ah, fair, I hadn't twigged that it was the final tonight, I thought that was next week. Ignore me!

The ending of that episode definitely felt set up for the expectation that Michael was getting murdered. If he is, it will be interesting to see if that makes suspicion fall on the actual Traitors, or if everyone is still pretty oblivious to it all.

True that it had worked up to that point. I think better players would have recognised that it was time to change up the strategy and get rid of Michael instead of Sharon. With the overall numbers getting low, and (until James A’s abdication) a recent lack of traitor banishment, it was natural that all players were going to come under suspicion, so their tactics were going to hit diminishing returns. Getting rid of a strong voice would have been much more helpful than random~!

At least it feels like there’s a bit of jeopardy going into the final day, and after a string of risible tasks, there’s usually a helicopter involved in the final mission.
