Just to add I think it's extremely unlikely O'sprey and O'Shea will give it everything in this first match. AEW has a history of doing first matches to build to rematches, laying some groundwork and sowing seeds in the first, then exploding with the second. 

Besides, when Fletcher turns on Billy for not winning the tag belts and Mark Davis comes back, Osprey will need a tag partner...

Other than to point out the throwing it out on free TV only mattered once (Goldberg/Hogan), one thing AEW doesn’t have an issue with is PPV. And it never has. Ticket sales are decent for them, PPV numbers are always similar give or take. Surely their Achilles heal has been TV both in ratings and attendance, so it’s time to right that wrong.

Just thinking about the BCC stuff from this week and it was really pretty masterful booking all round. To summarise:

- Private Party came in with probably their first genuine character motivation ever in 5 years and cut their best promo so far. Kassidy in particular was really good here and they came across as guys actually up for a real fight rather than comedy characters.

- Private Party surprise attacking the BCC showed that they aren't just jobbers and are willing to get dirty and violent.

- BCC shrugging them off showed a clear hierarchy of  who the real stars are which is important but did it in a way that didn't damage Private Party. Claudio debuting that brutal choke breaker move was good too, hopefully that's his new finisher.

- Got over Mox's new character and motivation while also showing how unhinged and violent he's ready to go.

- Darby was the only one who was able to fend BCC off which once again highlighted the hierarchy of stars. Darby felt like a big star here.

- you had depressed Yuta barely even present and so distant from his BCC allies and co-Champions.

So from just one episode they managed to achieve the following:

- built up the BCC even further.

- gave Private Party the best angle they've ever had and a clear way forward for them to develop and move up the ladder.

- presented Darby as a clear top singles star on Mox's level.

- built up Mox vs Darby and by highlighting BCC's violence then eventual Danielson return feud with the BCC.

- furthered the Yuta story which can go in any direction but feels really fresh and interesting.

Just fantastic well done and multi-layered stories all in one. Top marks.

I adore the new direction of Hangman Adam Page. Best character in the business.

Climbed Mount Everest. Achieved his ultimate goal. Got the revenge he's been obsessed with for nearly a year. Set his house on fire. Smashed his skull to death. But felt so little satisfaction, and is so far gone, that rather than just dropping it and taking a long, hard look at himself he's now going backwards and picking fights with anyone he perceives to have been in his way. Kicking off on Tony Schiavone felt like the final straw. The ultimate transgression. Look at yourself, Hanger! Going after Uncle Tone! Despicable. He needs a guitar to the head.

Spoilers for a four year old video game, but I feel for Hangman the way I felt playing The Last of Us Part 2.

Shades of that bit near the end, where Ellie is about to kill Abby. Just fucking let it go! This isn't going to make things better! What have you become?!

Excellent summary @Supremo. The show as a whole doesn't feel perfect yet but the big storylines in AEW at the moment are all hitting and they also feel uniquely fresh and original.

It’s my bank balance I’m mostly worried about. If Hangman hasn’t turned this around by next Summer I feel like I’m going to need to pay the twenty five grand it’ll cost for front row at Forbidden Door, just to recreate this with a, “What would Kenny think?” sign for Hangman.

Yeah it's a great new wrinkle to Hangman's new turn. I got my revenge, but people got in the way and delayed my revenge, so now they must pay because it made me wait and it's obviously there fault, if it had happened sooner, I might not have ended up burning down a house, so these people are really quite rude.

Really like Jeff Jarrett's part in this. In a way like Regal, an old turn, a villain who has played every card trick and con you can think of, telling a good man not to keep walking in the dark, but he's also going to absolutely defend himself if you go near his wife or someone defenceless, he's also NOT being booked as on Hangman's level, which is smart, it's almost tragically booked as we know where this is going but we're happy to see it play out, which AEW when they're on are really good at.

This was a building show, rather than a blow-away, and it felt shorter than usual. Although that's partly because I skipped 20 minutes of the Chris Jericho opener.

Takeshita and Okada came out of the main event feeling like a big deal, and United Empire came out looking stronger than they started. Hangman feels like an epic character that you just want to watch the next chapter of - Jarrett isn't the goal, but you want to see where it goes. And Mox is just carrying himself differently - this new unit just feels legit.

Like, it's not there yet, but it feels like everything is clicking into place for a hot run.

Only thing about the new BCC for me is that Pac looks really stupid wandering around in his wrestling pants while Mox and Claudio look hard as fuck with there shaved heads and matching clobber.

The Patriarchy segment is the first time since Moxley’s been back that his marriage to Renee has been acknowledged on air. I guess she is fine with the attempted murder and the hammer smashing. (I know they’ve been married the whole time but it being mentioned on TV draws attention to it in a way that isn’t especially helpful.)

Face beating heel in a long TV match after several weeks’ build should be the end of things, but you just know it’s only the beginning of the Conglomeration in the vortex.

Other than that I enjoyed the show. Ricochet and Mortos was very entertaining, and the main event got me looking forward to Okada-Takeshita, an Ospreay-Takeshita rematch and Okada-Ospreay in AEW all at once.

My guess is that Pac probably looks like the world's tallest midget when he's in normal clothes so I get why he walks around in his undies seemingly all day long.

Mortos gives me La Parka vibes. I instantly loved how both looked. I then saw them work and fell in love with them even more. Loving (WCW) La Parka is utterly unrewarding though because he never did anything and rarely won, except on shows no-one watched. So far, the same is true of Mortos. I hope they get past that with him.

I know we've seen him in tracksuits and stuff in the vignettes he does from home, but have we ever seen PAC in anything but Full Gear when he's in an arena or an 'official' AEW setting.

I love the idea that tiny pants and kick pads are his work uniform and he wears them from when he leaves the house/hotel until he gets back and then he'll put on his slacks and Fred Perry top.

Even the AEW announcement press conference I'm pretty sure he was the only person in ring attire.

He's class.
