RedTwoster Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 I enjoyed the first return season, hated most of the second - but I’d kind of like to see a third, with a proper conclusion to it all. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see Niles and Daphne one last time. But hey, I can’t say it’s the wrong decision and it’s probably for the best that it got cancelled before it did damage to the original series much as Arrested Development’s later seasons did. I’m not saying that definitely would have happened…but less is more. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 Ah that's a shame. I did genuinely enjoy it in some ways. Obviously no great loss but still. Sounds like they'll shop it around a bit first so you never know. Quote
WyattSheepMask Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 Ah that sucks. Not that it should’ve gone on for ages, but I reckon you could’ve got one more series out of it, especially with the strides they made with Alan’s character during Series 2. Outside of here I couldn’t tell you anybody that watched it though, which I imagine is what played into the decision. I couldn’t tell you anybody that subs to Paramount+ or Apple TV, I’m amazed they’ve lasted as long as they have Quote
DavidB6937 Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 Yeah I wouldn't sub to P+ if my Sky Cinema linked account got cancelled. I dont think many people even know it exists and even then its one subscription service too many. Quote
WyattSheepMask Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 Saw this earlier. Presumably they’re a fan Quote
kieranjennings Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 Having seen bit of Frasier from time to time through it's constant re-runs on Channel 4 I set myself the task of actually watching every episode through Paramount+ (having done the same with Cheers). It stands up as being a great sitcom but it felt like it had lost it's legs a bit in the last couple of seasons. Almost everything up to Niles and Daphne getting together is brilliant. I'm halfway through season 1 of the re-boot and thought there are some laughs there is just no heart to the show. The relationships with Roz, Niles, Daphne and Martin etc. are what made it and for most of the run generally Frasier is the least rewarding character. Without all of them it just feels like a standard sitcom - though Nichola Lyndhurst has been good! Quote
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted August 8, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted August 8, 2025 Ignore the title. Stick with it. Can't believe I've never seen this before. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted June 27 Author Members Posted June 27 Simon Moon is a fantastic minor character isn't he? Every time Anthony LaPaglia shows up he gets a massive pop out of me. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted June 27 Paid Members Posted June 27 I absolutely hated whenever he or any of Daphne's rubbish family turned up. Quote

Paid Members gmoney Posted June 27 Paid Members Posted June 27 I think he's absolutely dreadful. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 27 Moderators Posted June 27 You're the only person I've ever heard say they like Simon and the fact that you thought anyone would agree with your shameful admission will make me question your judgement continually going forward. Quote

You've made something up in your head again, it was rhetorical and conversational. Well done mate 😆 I enjoy him when he pops up, that's all. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Never been so disappointed in a topic bump after many months. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted June 27 Paid Members Posted June 27 I think Chest was being more light-hearted than your reply seems to indicate, but perhaps I'm wrong. Quote
