If they want exWWE names to boost numbers then

Dean Ambrose v Chris Jericho

Cesaro v Christian

Saraya v Ruby Riott w/Vicky Guerrero

Hardy Boyz v FTR

Surfer Sting v JJ

Sorted bruv

I'm all for Riott vs Saraya, would give me 10 minutes for the queue to take a piss

I'm slightly concerned given they had him do a voiceover for some promotional video about the event that they're under the impression that anyone in the UK gives a shit about Kip Sabian. Sort of hope he's not on the show at all.

I'm aware that Kip Sabian exists, is there a reason for the dislike or is he just bland?

He's just very, very dull. They've got so much talent, it would be a shame to having him fill up a spot. My big fear is that they'll really highlight him and give him a big sport on the card because he's English. I've never met a fan of him.

I'd be surprised if they don't fit him in somewhere, but in terms of highlighting British talent, there's Saraya, Jamie Hayter and PAC that they're likely to want to make more out of, possibly Anthony Ogogo, and the outside chance that they'd borrow Ospreay and Sabre from NJPW for the night, and maybe even Nigel McGuinness coming out of retirement. Maybe others I'm forgetting. So you'd think Kip Sabian would be pretty low on the list for who would get the Bulldog spot.

*Raises hand*

I realise I'm probably extra biased as he's a Norfolk lad & I saw him on a ton of ridiculously tiny shows over the years (including ending up sitting next to his very lovely but rather bemused parents on one occasion) but I do have a soft spot for Kip. I've been quite enjoying his "Batman villain plus henchmen plus associated crazy women" stable with Butcher & Blade, to the point it's turned me round on those two. Previously they'd been chopping block material for me.

On the subject of getting people spots on the card, I've been kind of hoping they'd use this as an opportunity to do a proper, well-booked Royal Rumble rip-off (y'know, London, England, royal...). Done well, could be a great way to get a bunch of people into a featured spot, as opposed to a messy afterthought Casino Battle Royal (which I suspect is what we'll actually get. Ogogo as the joker).

now at 43k

considering people ripped the piss out of them doing Wembley when they announced it, 43k is pretty good and I think most would have said that was a decent number overall let alone a pre-sale. I don't see why they can't get another 10,000 sold now.

Is it verifiable? Not saying there is anything wrong with doing it but why is everyone taking it at face value when wrestling promoters are known for having a distant relationship with box office numbers.

It’s promotion 101. You aren’t going to say “Plenty of tickets still available” when you can say “Only a few tickets left, they’re selling out fast so don’t miss out”

Have a day off and try being positive for once.

Is Anthony Ogogo still kicking around in AEW to be able to make this? He would be the man for the marketing via the UK media. Get him eating burgers like Bulldog, the lot.

Plus, I would love for him to do a spin on Carl Froch's '80,000 at Wembley' schtick.

It’s a fair question. And I’ve been very positive about this event, it’ll bring a lot of happiness to forum members.

I know anyone from the UK will be considered "local" as Americans seem to think England is some small village, but this part of AEW's official press release made me laugh :

AEW Women’s World Champion and Southampton native Jamie Hayter is also excited for “AEW to make its long awaited debut in my home town, the United Kingdom."
