I'm now going to be absolutely gutted if the fifth BCC member isn't Ospreay. His history with Omega makes that a perfect fit. Maybe it's blind optimism but the Jericho thing feels like it's being worked as a decoy to me.

Ospreay is as different from the BCC ideal as anyone is possible as being.

It should be someone who is either a Regal guy or someone who has bled with them

Ideal world it's Samoa Joe but he's on Punk Island right now so probably not happening

Orange is a bit of a hack.

This was my impression of him when he arrived in AEW.  I thought that the comedy "everyone in on the joke" routine was extremely indyriffic and would never pass muster on tv.

To his immense credit, he's completely changed his act since those first few months.  The slow-mo and hands in the pockets have become taunts and the fake 80s cool has become overweening self-confidence and insouciance.  He's developed a character in promos too that was missing at the start when he was practically mute.

It helps that he sells brilliantly - so he's become a great babyface that takes a beating with hope spots and then a fiery comeback to a gutsy sneaked victory.  He makes his opponents look great and the crowd loves him.

Your criticisms were entirely correct imo 18 months ago but he's probably the most improved wrestler active today, from comedy act to super-hot babyface.  I've gone from loathing him to thoroughly enjoying his matches.

Fifth men to be announced tomorrow. Golden Lovers T-shirts at the ready. I’m gonna cry if they hug. Kota Ibushi in a War Games match, though. Good lord. He’ll probably moonsault off the top!

Or they break everyone's hearts and Kota sides with the BCC.

It's not going to be him though, imo.

I know you are trying to be clever, but it's hardly fantasy booking. I just think he should be the BCC's 5th man.

Obvious history with Omega, aligned himself with Don Callis at the last PPV.

Why wouldn't he be a good fit?

1 - He isn't available

2 - Yes, he has a history of Omega. But no one else in The Elite. There are far more people on the roster or associated who have more history with members.

I don't remember this ever happening in AEW, to be honest. I know a couple of times on the indies the opponent has sold and gone along with his slo-mo stuff but I don't think that's ever happened in AEW.

His very first appearance in AEW was in the Casino Battle Royale where he did his slo-mo kicks to Tommy Dreamer who was having none of it and lashed him out, whiuch kind of set the tone for how that character would be handled.

The angle going into Forbidden Door was that Ospreay was making himself an evil little shit to beat Omega. A more viscous, violent version of himself. He did this and got the win. His hidden blade finish is as nasty as a finisher comes. I think he's a great fit. The only issue for me being that he's coming off a win. There's no real reason for him to bother with Omega again now, it's Omega that's interested in him for the rubber match. They'd need  to negotiate that hurdle in my opinion to make the storyline work.

I have three predictions for BCC's 5th man:

The Good - Jun Kasai

The Bad - Chris Jericho

The Ugly - Evil Uno

I'd love for it to be Kasai, who Mox has recently bled with at Korakuen Hall.

I'd be apathetic for Jericho, who needs a refresh but not at the expense of this story.

I'd hate for it to be Evil Uno, but he got a pinfall win over Adam Page on Rampage so it looks like those YouTube nerds might actually be brute forced into this.

What is the likelihood of the BCC’s 5th man being Don Callis? Like how JJ Dillion would work War Games with the Horsemen. The match has enough smoke & mirrors going on that he doesn’t actually have to do a great deal, and getting into a position where Omega finally gets his hands on him, or is about to to then get cut off, would elicit a great pop.

I just think it saves bringing someone in short term who isn’t going to be in the mix a few months down the line, and other than the previously mentioned Pac I don’t know who else is an over enough heel to fill the spot. Pac would be a great addition to the BCC though, a nasty bastard who can scrap the same way as they currently do, but can go to the air when he needs to as well.

Anything to save us from Jericho though

I liked the idea after Bryan went down and they had to also write off Eddie for the G1. It could still work with having Cutler in the ring filming BTE. Pretend he's 5th to get Callis to sign on, only for the Ibushi reveal at the end.

Don't see them going in that direction since they're hyping the reveal for both teams as a selling point.
