What tea do you drink? Why is is Yorkshire Tea? What terrible event took place which made you prefer another main market tea? How do you have it? How much do you drink?

I've pretty much stopped drinking coffee to help the anxiety over last year or so. In addition to chugging a bunch of Yorkshire (strong, milk and no sugar) I've also bought a few poncey teas for when I'm feeling like something else, mainly from Vahdam

https://www.vahdam.global/collections/loose-leaf-teas

The Himalayan one is delicious, lots of spice and Stavia that makes it a bit sweeter than what I'm used to, but a nice change of pace in the afternoons.

Here is my primary tea vessel. My beloved Pope John Paul II mug which I bought for 3 euro in Malta. It brings me a sense of enormous serenity every time I drink from it, though it's condition isn't much better than the actual John Paul II at this point.

Is it better than mine though, which I picked up for 2 quid in a charity shop in Chichester?

I similarly gave up coffee about 10 years ago to combat anxiety and sleeping issues, which were completely solved by stopping booze, but I never went back to coffee. I also drink Yorkshire Tea, around 5 cups a day.

At work they have what they claim are PG Tips bags, but they are truly pathetic and you need about 3 in a cup to get a decent brew. I draw the line at bringing my own bags though.

Come on UKFF, show us YOUR Pope John Paul II mugs!

PG Tips or Yorkshire Tea. Yorkshire is slightly better but my local corner shop doesn't stock it, and the difference in quality isn't vast enough for me to go out of my way for it. I have about 4 cups a day, but probably a few more in the winter.

I do love a good cuppa with a biscuit or a chocolate bar at the end of a long day.

I don't drink coffee on account of it being vile and my not being American.

This is the good stuff, right here. A nice, strong tea, which is absolutely perfect for mornings. Plenty of flavour, but comforting and relaxing. My partner is pretty picky about her teas, and she's become an addict to this one since I saw it in the Irish section in Morrisons and introduced her to it.

Another Yorkshire Tea fan here. I am quite the fan of tea in general, at my old house I had a cupboard dedicated just to different types of tea but our kitchen is smaller in our new house and I've had to slim down to a shelf.

I do enjoyed a spiced/masala tea. Chocolate tea's are also generally delicious too. Tesco used to do their own Finest Chocolate Tea that was really good but they discontinued it. David's Tea (a Canadian tea shop) do some amazing blends so I always stock up when I'm in Canada. Bird & Blend are quite good for specialist blends in the UK, their matchas are also quite good. The new sticky tea they have bought out is a bit shit though, I wouldn't recommend it.

Being a Barry (spoiler) and a non tea and coffee drinker, whenever we reach the Irish section in Morrisons. I’m always met with “Oh look, it’s your tea” and “Do you feel at home”. Every single time. First time it was funny but it’s just boring and annoying now. JUST STOP WITH THE SAME JOKE.

The king of tea. Yorkshire Tea is a very close second, but Barry's for me, all day long.

Anyone else noticed if you put tea in a flask, or coffee, that it seems to not taste as nice as it would be in a ceramic cup?

That's what Big Tea want you to think. Smaller vessel = more teabags. More teabags = more profit for those tea industry fat cats.

I tend to drink 3 coffees a day and usually have 1 or 2 cups of decaf in the late afternoon/evening. However, the Mrs drinks lots of tea (normal and poncey) so I decided to make a cup for myself after several years of abstaining.

I usually make the tea/ coffee in our house so I feel like I've got a decent grip on making a good cuppa even though I don't drink it. Outside of the previously mentioned poncey teas, I could only find PG tips in the cupboard so I went with that.

Looks good in the cup and I reckon the builders would be swaying if we had any in but it honestly takes like nothing, bland shite. I will probably get some Yorkshire Tea in for further testing but this has done nothing to change my mind. A massive dissapointment.

Normal service has resumed.

I recently smashed my Rollerblade mug so I'm making due with a wilderness/outdoor themed mug currently. It's just not the same, though.

Reminds me of when I worked in Sainsbury’s and the bloke who worked the booze aisle, who was Scotch obviously, went on his break so I made an impromptu Scotch section on his aisle with Irn Bru, Mars Bars and Shortbreads.

I like tea but I'm a hardcore coffee ponce. Always have been. Over lockdown I spent way too much money on a decent espresso machine and I get in two cappuccinos per day. In the afternoon I use my wonderful Aeropress for a more 'normal' coffee. I get different beans every month and they all taste different. Decaf, full caf, it's all good.

I love this video where James Hoffman manages to convince Tom Scott that he really does like coffee:
