The first WES announcement that's actually got my interest.

Unless they go down the WWA route of pumping live commentary through the PA it's not going to sell you a ticket though.

Think of the long game. People see a professional product with real name value whether in the ring & on commentary. It’s only gonna draw more eyes to it, in turn raising the chances of selling more tickets to future events etc

Does Coach really have name value in the wrestling world? I can't imagine many people would be that interested just because he's on commentary.

I guess he's about at the level as everyone else involved. "Oh yeah, I remember them.." but the majority aren't worth anything really.

Does anybody else find it weird that the majority of posters on a forum for UK wrestling fans appear to want this UK wrestling event to fail? Wouldn’t it be more productive for everybody, that if you don’t want to support it then at least not be negative about it. It’s almost as it some will gain gratification from it failing. Strange

A. You've never read the discourse on BritWres on here, have you?

B. It's not really a UK event is it? From what I can see it's funded by Gulf State concerns, NFT grifters or both and by all accounts this is just a trial run for when they start in earnest in the Middle East.

C. That card is filled to the brim with the worst PC brewed WWE cast offs that they could find. The only match that looks even half decent is the women's tag.

D. No one's willing for it to fail. They just expect it to.

I don't think anyone's willing the show to fail, but a lot of people have been around long enough to have seen big ideas like these fall on their arse countless times over the years. It's more a general sense of apathy than anything else.

Exactly. The majority of us are in or actually support the UK scene, so when a new name suddenly appears, boasting expensive import talent, in an arena that the majority of UK promotions would struggle to half-fill, with a botched website countdown, it sets off alarm bells.
