Chili Posted January 10, 2025 Posted January 10, 2025 This has just reminded me to give The Beautiful South a relisten as I've not heard them in a while but find them proper grand. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted January 11, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2025 About 5 years back my wife said she hasn't heard of the Beautiful South. After around an hour of me playing YouTube she realised she very much did. We did the same last year with Def Leppard. Though in fairness she may have been trying to play down my (remote) family connection. ? Quote

Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted January 12, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 12, 2025 (edited) Nope. But I don't have my birth surname anyway, I took my wife's when we got married. Edited January 12, 2025 by ReturnOfTheMack Typo Quote
Paid Members Monkee Posted January 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 16, 2025 (edited) I spent last Thursday with 4 Holocaust survivors and I am in awe of them all. One was in Bergen-Belsen and one in Theresienstadt. One of them has become my email best pal and he’s adorable. He’s invited me to tea so he can know more about me and I can’t wait. Hearing their stories really puts things into perspective and getting emails from them cheers me up no end. Edited January 16, 2025 by Monkee Wrong day Quote

Members SuperBacon Posted February 5, 2025 Members Posted February 5, 2025 My eldest recorded her singing with her band at practice today (Billie Eilish - Birds of a Feather) and despite me bursting into tears every time I play it, it's cheering me up big time. She's just said "OK Dad, calm down it's not that deep" Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 5, 2025 Moderators Posted February 5, 2025 Ah that's lovely. My youngest secretly learned all the words to the super mario brothers rap and then performed it for me out of the blue yesterday. Got him to do it again on video and have watched it about a million times. Quote
