Saw the absolute funniest thing ever today in Southampton. A middle aged white man walking round with a t-shirt that just said "I LOVE BLACK WOMEN" I can't stop laughing at it.

A few months ago at the airport in Ibiza, a Spanish bloke in his mid 20's was wearing an I'M IN GARY'S GANG t-shirt, complete with three photos of Glitter on it. I'm fascinated as to how it happened. Did he not know? Are 20-year-old Spanish edge lords aware of Gary Glitter? If so, why? Was he a poor, unknowing Spanish super-fan of Gary Glitter? In of itself, that's almost as surprising as a bloke walking around with a picture of one of Britain's foremost nonces on his chest.

I've been after a Surface Pro for a while now but have been slowly saving up whilst monitoring the prices. As is typical, when I saved up the money about 4 months ago, the prices were at an all time high so I held out till last week when a retailer had dropped it £25 above the all time low that I'd seen it at so I'd decided it was time to buy. It arrived on Sunday. This morning I checked the prices again (it's become a habit) and it was £75 cheaper than what I bought it for on the same retailers website. I thought I would drop them an email nicely stating that I was still in my 14 day return window and that they had dropped the price considerably. 45 minutes later and they had deposited a £75 refund in my bank account

I’d always been a dog person, but through circumstance (that being, a daughter who really likes cats) I’ve ended up with two cats. It was only supposed to be one cat, until he ended up being so brilliant we went and got a second.

Anyway, if my toddler daughter wakes up in the middle of the night, the first person(?) at her door digging away trying to get in is our male cat. He adores her. He likes to sleep in my arms every night, and last night, to the bemusement of my wife, I fell asleep with one cat cuddled up to me in each arm. Obviously I woke up with two dead arms but y’know, it was nice anyway.

When I work from home I have a second chair next to me, one goes on my lap, the other on the chair and they’re very good at swapping and taking turns.

I'd always thought cats were cold, uncaring animals, but I was totally wrong. These two are absolutely great and make my life better just by existing.

I’ve woken up this morning feeling slightly unwell and having them by my side…magic.

A lot of people have this perception because cats are very independent. But my boy cat was very soppy, clingy and loving. My wife’s cat has become obsessed with me the 5 years we’ve been together and is very soppy and loving too. And she’s very clingy with me and follows me everywhere. Our friends cats are the same with their families. I feel they’re really misunderstood as they give the same love a dog can.

Between the cats I’ve had the ones we look after when we house sit, I get a great comfort from them.

I grew up rurally, so my experience of cats growing up was almost entirely seeing them kept as mousers. When my own family actually did get a cat, he actively hated me!

My current two, however, are very dog-like. One of them even plays fetch! When it's time to clean his teeth, you tell him and he jumps up on a high surface and lets you. The other one isn't so compliant, but she's still very sweet. They follow me around the house, and it's really nice. They're also terrific with my daughter, particularly the male cat (he's a Siamese) who totally dotes on her, waiting at the door every day when he knows she's coming back from nursery.

Yep, my one does too. She specifically likes balled up galaxy wrappers (the foil bit, was KitKats before they went WOKE) and will bring it to me and drop it in front of me to throw again.

Cats are the best and I couldn't imagine my life without Nova.
