Apparently the Flair/Lacey Evans storyline was miserable for all involved, and if it wasn't for Lacey's pregnancy would have carried on into Wrestlemania. Good shit, pal!

I'm no fan of Charlotte but her character is written as inconsistently and booked as appallingly as any other. And that feud with Lacey sounded desperately bad.

Yeah, I think you can criticise Charlotte's booking on plenty of levels beyond "she doesn't win enough", there's a lot there to complain about.

Given that Big Show said the nail in the coffin for him in WWE was not being treated with respect as a "Legend" when booked in that capacity, I can't imagine Flair was too happy about just playing doddery old man with Charlotte if he felt he had anything more to offer.

Hasn't Flair already debunked that theory by saying the reason he asked for his release is because there are projects coming up (Conrad related presumably) that he wouldn't be able to do under contract with WWE?

I don't think so; I think they realised that booking an inspirational babyface to get a cheap win over a heel doesn't really add up, so had Charlotte call it out and then lose clean to resolve that.

I have seen people suggest that they'll have Cena go over Reigns at Summerslam to beat Flair's record now, but I don't see it happening.

I think Cena said that he had a month free in his schedule that allowed him to return to WWE for the build to SummerSlam.  So chances are he'll be gone after the PPV.

No chance (I hope). Reigns is hot right now. Having him lose the belt to Cena would be a travesty.
