Hopefully getting married, having had to cancel it because of this stupid pandemic bollocks.

Getting through the school year and seeing a group of kids I taught from Y7 through to Y11 will be nice as well, alongside my first GCSE group from this school finishing their A-Levels. Should be nice.

Getting a new job, hopefully. Due to a flurry of shite my contract at work wasn't made permanent. I was on a Fixed Term for the last couple of years and someone perm at risk of redundancy applied when the position became substantive, so I didn't even get a chance to interview for the job I've been doing since May 2019.

Unfortunately he did enough to get the job. As a further kick in the teeth I had to then train him over zoom, which was about as fun as you might imagine. So as of December 31st I am back on the job hunt.

So yeah, a fresh start next year will be very welcome. I appreciate there's far worse stuff going on for many, many people and 2020 hasn't been too horrendous for me, but starting something new can't happen soon enough.

In a wider sense, going down the pub for a pint with mates/general socialising. Gigs and live events, just some return to a semblance of normality eventually.

Hopefully it all comes sooner rather than later. I'm not getting my hopes up for 2021 just yet, but it'll depend on how the vaccine goes.

Same here, we've had ours cancelled twice now. All the drama its caused with suppliers and the venue, not to mention the honeymoon, have been a monster ballache. At this point I just want it done with and put behind us, which is a shitty way to think about your wedding really isn't it?

Playing football again.

I stopped when we moved out of Prague in February of last year but have decided to join the local village team in spring.

Also looking forward to working on the house, particularly getting the facade looking how we want it to look. Got some pals (hopefully) visiting us for the Euros and some hiking, fishing and general tomfoolery this summer, too, which I can't wait for.

Bring on the vaccine.

as much as my sack needs a thorough emptying I don't really feel like putting my parents at risk for it.

You’re worried you’ll give your parents covid by fucking them?

My big one is to continue to be clean and sober.

Up until April 28th of this year I was massively into cocaine. Because of this I lost my job, very nearly lost my family and came to within a few minutes of ending it all.

On April 28th I had my last line. Came clean to my family and have been in recovery since.

It hasn't been easy and I'd be lying if I said there haven't been times when I've had to fight really hard to resist the temptation of one gram won't hurt, but I have.

In all honesty, the last year with pubs being closed and socialising limited, it's been more of a blessing than a hindrance.

My plan is to book in for a tattoo on April 28th 2021 to get something to celebrate 1 year clean and sober.
