Depends. It's not like the TV ratings are significantly higher recently than they usually are for the most part. 100k is a good number regardless and the PPVs are a strong money maker for the company. I would assume they'll probably get a higher buyrate for this show than usual but I wouldn't expect anything crazy like an extra 100 thousand buys.

As someone who dips in and out of AEW, its only over the past few days that I've felt any buzz at all about surprise appearances etc, so my expectations for a massive wave of casual AEW fans buying it wouldn't be sky high.

Super hyped for the show tonight so why not bung out some predictions:

-AEW WORLD Title. Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match

Kenny Omega (c) Vs Jon Moxley

Mix will take some time off.

- AEW Tag Team Titles:

The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho & MJF) Vs The Young Bucks (c)

I don't think the Bucks are ready to drop the titles yet. Unless they hot potato it between the two teams.

- Street Fight

Sting & Darby Allin Vs Team Taz (Ricky Starks and Brian Cage)

I can't see Sting doing the favours in his first match.

-Women's Title

Hikaru Shida (c) Vs Ryo Mizunami

Ryo doesn't really have any momentum so I don't see Shida losing. Should be a good one though.

-Winner gets the loser's 1st quarter earnings

Hangman Adam Page Vs Matt Hardy

I think there's more story if Hardy cheats to win.

-Face of the Revolution Ladder match. Winner gets a future TNT Title shot

Cody Rhodes Vs Penta vs Scorpio Sky Vs Lance Archer Vs Max Caster Vs TBA

Because everybody dies.

-Miro & Kip Sabian Vs Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor

Hopefully we can all move on from this.

-Casino Tag Battle Royale for a future tag title shot

PAC/Fenix Vs Top Flight Vs Private Party Vs Butcher & Blade Vs Santana & Ortiz Vs Grayson/Uno Vs Silver & Reynolds Vs So Cal Uncensored

Because Johnny HUNGY!

Plus . . . Some big announcement. . . TNA style. . . .Maybe.

Christian Cage

He seems like the most likely and I really don't want to see Kurt kill himself.

I won't go into details as I'm watching the Buy-In atm, but here's my predictions;

Winners: Omega, Jericho/MJF, Archer, Shida, Sting/Allin, Page, Miro/Sabian, Silver/Reynolds.

6th man in Ladder match - Shaq
"Huge Surprise" - Batista

Such a shame they borked the finish because I thought it was really ace fun up until the wet fart. At least they can get creative with sound effects and editing when they recap it on Wednesday. I felt terrible for Eddie having to sell that.

Absolutely heartbreaking. They had it. Amazing main event, proper drama, edge of my seat, Eddie fucking Kingston running out to save his friend...it was one second from being a complete home run...and then a couple of Roman candles went off. Such a shame. One massive explosion and that would’ve been a masterpiece. I can only assume something went wrong because I can’t fathom them doing that in the rehearsal and no-one speaking up that it looked like shit.

They need to retcon on Wednesday and reveal Eddie spent the final minute of the countdown defusing loads of the bombs. Or Kenny reveals it was all planned to humiliate them and he never actually set bombs. Either way though, Kenny then needs to end Dynamite blowing them up again and doing it properly.

Still though. Kicking out of the One Winged Angel by willingly putting your foot on a bomb is arguably the greatest spot of all time.

Yeah. That match was pretty weak. You'd have thought they'd try to make the ring collapse or something. It was like the Foley Funk match at King of the Deathmatches, Then the Owen voice followed by "don't forget to tune in Wednesday for Dynamite, goodbye folks."

Spoiler

Welcome to AEW, Christian

They built a PPV around 3 big moments. The surprise entrant in the Ladder match, the "huge signing" and seeing explosions. They completely missed the mark on all three.

I don't know who Ethan Page is other than I saw a clip of him karate fighting himself and then he cried and quit the company because he looked stupid. The surprise nobody wanted to be Christian was of course Christian. Then that ending. Like Supremo said, they almost had it but for it to end like that and nobody to call and audible made them look so bad. That will be infamous in botches and wrestlecrap now when it could have been huge.

Not a bad PPV by any means, some of it was really good, but the three things everyone tuned in for were really underwhelming.
