Fairly sure I saw somewhere reporting he was in line for a push but can't remember where.

To be fair, there are plenty of wrestlers I’ve written off in the past who have gone on to have excellent runs after a duff spell - if this is indeed true, hopefully Balor can defy my expectations and do something interesting.

Seth Rollins being scripted to say he took the WWE 'on his back' and 'made it more successful than it's ever been' suggests someone with authority actually believes that.

That's no real surprise though is it. He's been at the top of the card for how long now? Even when the big boys were playing at Mania they still wanted to keep him happy and in that area too.

He didn't take the company on his back though, and I genuinely don't think he can take any credit for the current 'boom period'.

Him and Punky did well with the segment, I think. I just don't care. It's another feud based on how much of an arsehole someone apparently is when the cameras aren't on. Great.

Only this time we get an added dose of 'plus, he really wants to headline Mania but hasn't and I have'.

Get on with it. Let's get The Great Reset out the way on January 6th and then just move on.

World Champion Gunther nowhere to be seen on the show or at the takings. No reference made to him and none of the superstars even mentioned a passing interest in going for the World Title or anything.

I'll keep banging this drum as its not normal, the World Title means absolutely nothing, it's not even an afterthought at this point it's just a nothing.

In terms of the WWE Title, there's a slight interest there with Owens, but no one else is even bothered about that Title either than them two.

At this point they may as well not bother with the mens Royal Rumble match as no fucker is bothered about the title, and even if you do win it, you're no more prominent on the show than the actual big stars either so it's pointless.

Appreciate the effort you're putting in.

Business as hot as its been in 25 years, but it's only right we have dissenting voices showing how they're doing it all wrong.

I think Gunther’s next opponent will either involve him moving to Smackdown or a Smackdown guy moving to Raw to challenge him. If it’s true they want the big stars on Raw then swapping him and Cody is probably a must. Wouldn’t be the worse thing as after KO there’s not much of note for Cody outside of his big feud with Orton which could be better paced if they were on separate shows anyway.

Is it possible that Gunther is just on holiday or something after SNME?

Or he's probably just read your posts and decided to fuck with you.

You're right though. Might as well cancel the Rumble. Pointless.

The thing is, it's just 'what you like' isn't it?

Of course they shouldn't cancel the Rumble, nor are they doing it wrong (clearly) but it might not be for a minority and that's fine.

Some people (again.. clearly) really place a lot of importance in one of the two men's World Championships (Of which one of the two is Undisputed, which is quite the sentence) but I'm old enough to remember when people would complain on here that they only cared about the World Title(s) and should occasionally boost the IC/US titles. I've also seen the same arguments made for the various iterations of the women's Championships, and some (mostly @tiger_rick) will tell you that the Tag Titles are as prestigious as the World Titles as they are World Titles in their own right.

Me, personally, I just want to see the people I like in decent spots, doing big stuff against big names. I don't really put much stock in the belt anymore. Whatever.

But if people are watching, and buying tickets, and buying shirts and yelling Yeet? Probably fine, isn't it?

I tell you one thing I didn't see coming, is how Papa H has begun stoking possibly the most interesting mid-card the WWE have had in ages.

The mid-card, for years, felt like they either didn't care about it or it was populated with bigger stars dropping down for a win before going back to the big matches.

Now, though, off the back of Gunther giving the IC title some credibility particularly? They've got so many pieces moving around who are genuinely interesting, well booked performers who could compete for mid-card titles without it being the start of a main event push. Chad Gable, Kofi, Ludwig Kaiser and Karrion Kross alone on Raw are all flying at the minute.

Then you've got the upper-mid card tier with Damian Priest, Jey Uso etc also ready to do a shift before you even get to the big names or superstars beyond them.

They're absolutely pissing talent at the minute, and are actually making something of most of them. Bravo.

Yeah I think one of the key things about the success of WWE as a whole right now is that it's not just Roman and Cody that are over but top to bottom there's a lot of different acts that the crowds are into. And that's something they've often lacked and managed to kill momentum of shows in the middle. There seems to be a better effort to build from the bottom.

Pretty strong episode of Raw, I thought.

Punk seemed a bit out of step in his promo, which was unusual for him, but at least Rollins turned up in the mood to be serious. They do not like each other AT ALL. Some real Maris Pipers being thrown in that fight. I hope they don't behave themselves in their match.

Loved the Kaiser vs Breakker match. I'm a Kaiser believer and after the stellar work I did in getting Damian Priest over with the UKFF, I will do the same with this gentleman. Lots of lovely arm work in this, proper wrestling. Selling! They need to find a good programme for Kaiser now if they're not ready to put a belt on him yet.

I found it funny that Woods and Kingston were wandering around looking for a place to change all night even though they didn't have a match. You've annoyed Rey Mysterio, lads. In his pink hoodie. Now you're for it!

Rhea Ripley called Dirty Dom a chicken tender slut. I don't know what it means but I laughed and I guess that's all that matters.

Paul Ellering said something! Well, mumbled. I liked Karrion Kross having to restrain himself from strangling The Miz. He needs a bit more dark comedy in his act like that. The Final Testament rescue act is still on!

These women's triple threats have all been really enjoyable and the one on here was no exception. They really should have let Raquel Rodriguez dominate though, it didn't make sense that Kayden Carter did. Shame about the ending but Zoey Stark is really good, she needs to not be lumped in with the stupidest named group in wrestling right now.

I don't know what the Longlegs symbol was all about. You all seem to think it's whatshisname from AEW so I'll nod and agree. I don't think I've ever seen him wrestle. I'd prefer it if Maika Monroe turned up.

War Raiders beat the shit out of Balor and McDonough and won the belts, which was nice. Ivar is OVER. I still miss Valhalla. Reading reports that Balor is about to get a singles push saddens me greatly. Just let him go back to Japan. Priest got a nice pop, as he should.

Just another breezy episode. Absolutely madness to go back to 3 hours.

I am a Karrion Kross konvert. Fair play to the guy, he's worked his arse off and keeps trying and trying and trying and finally something seems to have stuck, and he's quite enjoyable.

I mean I still have no real desire to watch him wrestle BUT I'm enjoying whatever shit he's doing gimmick wise at the moment.

It probably helps that I've watched a few interviews with him lately and he just seems like a nice guy so I'm going a bit easier on him. He's found his groove and his place for now.
