Paid Members Supremo Posted December 23, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 23, 2024 Seems to be some fun politicking to follow in terms of which match, “main events,” the Netflix debut. Similar to Bad Blood, you can smell a bit of jostling and peacocking backstage on whether Punk or Roman will, “headline.” Will be interesting to see what happens. Not that it matters in the end. You’ll both get your Mania main event. Together. Forever. It’s Solo and Seth I’m more fascinated by. Both sitting in that locker room, wearing the special gear they had made for the Wrestlemania matches they’re now having in early January. It’s all about the game, and how they’ve played you, lads. Pretty sure it was announced on SmackDown that Seth Vs Punk will be the main event so can see Roman Vs Solo opening the show. Quote
Snitsky's back acne Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Sounds like when Vince apparently promised both Sid and Ric Flair the WrestleMania main event when he signed them in 1991 and, not wanting them to face each other, went 'Its a double main event!!!'. Quote

I'm sure we've had a PPV vaguely recently where there were 3 or 4 different main events. I can't remember what but I'm pretty sure I haven't made it up. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Is someone wrestling the Kiss Demon in a special main event? Quote

The Rock will turn up twenty minutes before the show starts, explaining we’ve got a new closing shot and IT DOESN’T MATTER if it makes sense. Get on this. On pre-taped shows, where everyone else is phoning it in and filling time, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn continue to deliver gold. Real examples of the cream rising to the top. Probably the best heel and babyface in the business right now. If only there was a big show and a belt most suited for them to collide on/over. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I also enjoyed the New Day stuff - Kofi's mum hating on him and even Dirty Dom being disappointed. The guys are working really hard to make it work and it's definitely not something you would've thought would be closing off 2024. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) I want them to subvert the Kofi Kingston Royal Rumble spot this year, where he’s launched out (ideally by a returning Big E) and lands either on a bunch of wrestlers or planted “fans.” Whereas previously they’d have helped carry him back to the ring, he’s now a horrible bastard, so they collectively carry him away from the ring and dump him on the floor. Like he deserves. Prick. Edited December 24, 2024 by Supremo Quote

They even went as far as to put up a graphic saying it was Brocks whatever number of main events at SummerSlam. He was 2nd on a card of 9 matches. Crackpots. Quote
Paid Members Callum1993 Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 I wonder if the play for Mania now is going to be a 6 man tag with Sami and the Usos against a heel faction of McIntyre, Owens and Rollins. Would seem to fit with the current direction of those 3 having a vendetta against the Bloodline. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Bad laughing at Dom. “I didn’t like Big E, but that was crazy”. Quote

I actually really like this idea - I could see this feeling like a really hot match, given the talent of the people involved. If it happens, I’d love to see it close night one giving Owen’s his third Wrestlemania headline slot, and Sami his second - it’s no less than they deserve. Quote
