As much as I enjoy Infinite Wealth, nothing rivalled the business sim in the original Like a Dragon. Probably adding people to your Pirate crew as well as the Pirate Colliseum and Dragon Kart were fun. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 One my main issues with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has come flooding back. Spoiler The villains are shit tier. Malos in particular is just annoying as fuck, every time he opens his gob. Not imposing, not intimidating. Just a 'Oh will you just shut the fuck up and go away' type of villain. And Jin could cure insomnia. Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted February 28, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 28, 2025 That looks fucking brilliant! I hope it'll come to Xbox too. Quote

Paid Members RedTwoster Posted March 1, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 1, 2025 I’ve been trying out some of the demos in Steam’s Next Fest, and there are some real gems…and some duds. Cauldron Wishlisted? Nope. I really wanted to love this one, but it was really disappointing. It’s a JRPG-style game where pretty much everything is a mini game. Need to mine for rocks? You’re playing a dig dug style mini game. Need to gather fruit? There’s an apple catching mini game. Problem is, the games only last for seconds, as if it’s Warioware, giving you very little time to actually enjoy them or get a grasp as to whether or not they’re any good. The game is a good idea, but it’s done quite badly. Hopefully it’s refined a bit before the main release. Is This Seat Taken? Wishlisted? Yes. I really like this one. It’s quite a unique puzzle game where you have to solve the age-old problem of who sits where. The little characters have certain conditions and preferences, and you fit them in the vehicle. I can imagine it getting a bit head-scratching (but in a fun way) as the game goes on, but the puzzles in the demo are all pretty simple. I really enjoyed it, though. It’s weirdly satisfying. I don’t necessarily need it to get any more complicated than it is in the demo to find it fun. Ruffy and the Riverside Wishlisted? With enthusiasm! This is outstanding, I absolutely loved this. It’s such an interesting idea, and the concept is really different. It’s an open world 3D platformer, in which you can swap the textures of objects. For example, at the start there’s a waterfall. Nearby there are some vines. You need to climb up, and to do so, you swap the water texture with that of the vines. Except the vines take on the property of the waterfall and still ‘flow’ like water. I had so much fun with this game to the point I’d say that if the full release lives up to the promise of the demo, this could be a game of the year contender for me. Demon Tides Wishlisted? Yes. I wasn’t expecting to like this, as the predecessor - Demon Turf - wasn’t for me. There was a stopmotion-like quality to the movement of the main character, and I didn’t really like that. However, that’s gone this time round and the platforming and system of movement is hugely satisfying. It’s a great, PS2-style 3D platformer that I had a tonne of fun with. Deliver At All Costs Wishlisted? No. This game has potential, but I didn’t like the demo much. It’s a game where you’re a delivery person, and you have to ‘deliver at all costs’. It’s kind of similar to the PS1 GTA games. But fuck me, all you want is to play the game and there’s so much story. It should be a daft gameplay-focused madcap delivery game, but it has a slightly grim tinge to it that just feels off. With a bit of refinement it could be good, but the demo felt messy. Quote
thevestofdeanambrose Posted March 2, 2025 Posted March 2, 2025 Started Dead Space this weekend. Never played the original but wow what a ride and what a game! Quote
Paid Members RedTwoster Posted March 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 2, 2025 Some more demos from Steam’s Next Fest… Wordatro Wishlisted: Yes This might have the laziest name ever, but it’s absolutely brilliant. As you might guess from the name, it’s Balatro with words. And I’ve played this demo to death. It’s just as addictive as Balatro, and I’ll be buying this as soon as it’s out. I need more of this. Nice Day For Fishing Wishlisted? No This comes from Team 17, and that in itself made me optimistic. It’s a fishing-based RPG, but it didn’t quite work in practice for me. It’s very meta, and I encountered a lot of bugs on the Steam Deck, which isn’t their fault as they don’t claim that it’s compatible at this stage. Still, I found the game to be disappointing even when it worked. It’s a nice idea, so I hope they get it working. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted March 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 2, 2025 There's nothing more irritating than the motorway being blocked by a fucking helicopter on Euro Truck Simulator 2 although I have perfected the art of reversing up a hard shoulder as a result. I love it. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted March 4, 2025 Moderators Posted March 4, 2025 (edited) Bit of a specific question, but does anyone know how or where I will be able to catch up on matches from the Capcom Cup without spoilers? They'll be on at like 3am from tomorrow, so trying to organise a viewing with a mate for the evening after work where we can catch up together. Edited March 4, 2025 by Chest Rockwell Quote

I’d assume Twitch will have the VOD go up straight away and the livestream on YouTube here. Edited March 4, 2025 by TildeGuy~! Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted March 4, 2025 Moderators Posted March 4, 2025 Ah cool! Thanks. Never watched anything on twitch before. But having a look at the official channel it looks like I'll be able to watch the videos without seeing any comments etc so as long as they themselves don't spoil anything in the video title I'll be fine ? Paid Members RedTwoster Posted March 4, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 4, 2025 About as random a gaming story as I could have anticipated - Acclaim is being resurrected…and Jeff Jarrett is involved. Yes, THAT Jeff Jarrett. The link is to VGC. Quote
