That's a good shout, I like linguine, and no doubt like many on here I have bought it accidentally several times because it's next to the spaghetti.

I had to butcher a 4ft tall woman in her 80s in Waitrose to get it, but I've got it! Stubborn old bitch. She had a hell of a grip. If only she'd clung to life that hard.

Spaghetti is the best, obviously. It's the gold standard of pasta. However penne or fusili can be used in the widest variety of dishes so can see an argument for either of them.

Bowtie pasta is an abomination.

I found myself watching this video the other day of handmade pasta shapes - 

 

It's hypnotic. Had a go at making some yesterday as it was a fun thing to do with my daughter. Some of them are really difficult. But the bowtie ones are super easy to do and actually tasted much better than dried bowtie pasta so I'm coming around on them.

(If anyone cares I use the serious eats dough recipe, not the one in this video).
