Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted July 16, 2024 Author Moderators Posted July 16, 2024 Didn't you post the same guy talking about pasta shapes a few weeks ago? The venn diagram between this thread and the dull mens club is finally just a circle. Quote

Paid Members Gus Mears Posted July 17, 2024 Paid Members Posted July 17, 2024 (edited) I was never a big fan of pasta and then married an Italian and realised I'd just been cooking it badly for years. Rigatoni for me. The thinking man's penne. Edited July 17, 2024 by Gus Mears Quote

Paid Members Gus Mears Posted September 18, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 18, 2024 Yeah, I'll caveat that it's OK in soup (especially yours Goosh, I'm sure it's divine) because it's basically being used as Italian dumplings by that point. When used as a proper pasta it's wank. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted September 18, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 18, 2024 I like a good macaroni cheese. When the cheese sauce is properly strong and smooth, and maybe has bacon in it. Quote

Being from South London I have to assume you've tried Caribbean Mac and cheese; do you put it in the same category? It's a totally different dish and greatly superior. Quote

I have, it's very nice (there's a great Caribbean place in Clapham where I've had it a few times) but yes I would put it in a different category as it's not the "traditional Italian" style of Mac and Cheese Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted September 18, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 18, 2024 (edited) Let's not forget Gino D'Acampo's macaroni & cheese gave us this moment: Â Edited September 18, 2024 by Carbomb Quote
Paid Members Duke Posted September 18, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 18, 2024 I really like a good parpardelle with the right sauce. Been trying bucatini, but yet to see decent results. Quote
