Not sure how much his age has a bearing but he’s 28 now and effectively entering his peak years as well. I was massively underwhelmed when he joined us. Now, I’d do probably sexual favours for him. He has been fucking exceptional for us. Whether you judge it as a success story for the Scottish league or the Danish league is open to debate I guess. The point I was making is that there's no hard & fast rule when it comes to a player being a success in one place, meaning he'll be a success elsewhere. There could be a whole host of factors that play into someone doing well in one league at a particular time, and not doing so well at another. It's not a given that someone who does well in England will piss all over the Scottish league. One factor that many English football fans overlook is the sheer pressure associated with playing in Glasgow for either Celtic or Rangers. I'm sure there are pressures playing for Norwich, but they won't come close to playing for Celtic and living in Glasgow. When a player signs for either of the Old Firm (well, mainly Celtic of late) there's incredible pressure to perform in every single game, which isn't all that easy when virtually every team you play parks 10 men behind the ball and does their level best to knock the shit out of you whenever possible. Pukki was a good player when he signed for Celtic, and had looked the business in Germany while playing for Schalke. It isn't as if he was a fresh-faced lad just off the boat from Finland, he'd spent time in Spain before arriving in Glasgow as well. In fact, Pukki himself said that he had come to Scotland under the impression that it would be "easier" than playing in Germany, and that he found the speed and physical nature of the game to be hard to adjust to; Quote  "It took me some time to get used to the game in Scotland because it was very different. “The game is quicker and more physical. You don’t get much time on the ball, that’s for sure. It is probably better than I thought as well. “When I first arrived maybe I thought it would be easier but Scottish football is not easy. It’s not a bad league at all, it’s a very good one. “I was used to being at a big club from my time at Schalke but coming here was even bigger again.

David
Possibly the most ridiculous excuse I've heard, in all honesty. No one waves like that, and if you're shouting to someone you cup your hand around your mouth. What a fucking berk.

Factotum
Ha the excuse is just woeful. I have to admire the sheer nonsense of it. Making sure the voice carried! He would have been better saying it was a stupid joke and just apologised. Mark Bosnich must have been his goalkeeping idol

David
It's all heating up in Scotland at the moment, with the match official from the Old Firm game getting death threats and needing a security escort to referee a match this past weekend, and now Chris Sutton has had to call in the cops for a death threat that he's received. Hope Defoe knows what he's getting himself into.

Them pesky Chelsea fans causing trouble again. Â Was it Sutton who wrote something at the weekend about there being a conspiracy to stop Celtic winning the league, hence the dodgy decisions going against them? Â No doubt that ref did the secret handshake with Stevie Me before the game. I love all that Chonspiracy Thheory Bhollocks That the green half of the Bhigot Bhrothers throw up. Â It's times like this I miss Ally Clark.

It's things like this when you do appreciate that a lot of these people are rich idiots in a bubble. Like when Griezmann decided to post Halloween photos where he blacked up the other year. Even if you ignore the fact that it's wrong, you have to be a thundering moron to think that stuff like that is going to be deemed hilarious in this day and age. Edited January 7, 2019 by Gus Mears
David
That's nothing new for the Three Kings celebrations here in Spain, I saw a few people dressed like that during the week. Story goes that one of the Kings was black, so...
