Cheers guys. I will probably go with the 14 day UK pass as the benefits outweigh the relatively low cost over the magic ticket, it's just such poor value when I'm only there for one week rather than two.

Although, the travel to Tampa and back will be by public transport, which probably means I don't really want any shopping days in Orlando until I go back there after Mania week, so I may spend the first seven days going to the parks anyway.

My day ticket to the studios so I could see Galaxies Edge was $120 plus tax and that was 1 park 1 day admission

I'm counting down the days at the minute.  Iger could have saved me a lot of money by getting this finished on time.  *Shakes fist*

I'm probably heading to Orlando again in September for another HHN weekend, but I won't be going to Hollywood Studios again, plus the fact SW at Paris is another 2 years at least away so I am fine with spoiling it for myself, but absolutely if you are going any time soon, avoid avoid acoid

Got back from Orlando a couple of weeks ago, first time over there and didn't disappoint. Galaxy's Edge is everything I wanted it to be, the market is stunning, the attention to detail is ridiculous and I could have looked at the Millenium Falcon for hours. Probably spent half the day just in there. Cried like a baby on the walk in to Baatu as I could hear the Force Theme being played from Star Tours and was just emotionally overwhelmed.

Smugglers Run is great fun, as was hinted previously it has the potential to be infuriating for some riders and was exemplified perfectly by the random that ended up in our group of five who spent the whole ride screaming instructions at my children. This was made better by my 7 and 11 year olds being the pilots and nosediving the Falcon in to the ground early on. Such a fun simulator though, wish I'd had time to go on a second time, the wait was around 55 minutes so not unbearable.

Managed to squeeze in Magic Kingdom for my wife's birthday and her turn to cry like a child, made even worse by having lunch at Tony's in full view of the parade when a woman came over and said she'd like to pay for our meal using her Disney Dining credits as she had 60 left and was leaving to fly home to Ireland later that day. Queue much sobbing.

We only managed two days in the parks and then travelled to Port Canaveral for a 7 night Carribean cruise on the Disney Fantasy which was the main part of the holiday and an absolutely world class experience followed by a day at SeaWorld after we got back to Orlando before flying home. Kids are already begging to go back, hopefully we can squeeze more parks in this time but would definitely cruise with Disney again, just couldn't do enough for us as a family and just pushes that Disney customer service in to overdrive.

We keep thinking about doing a cruise. I absolutely love the Disney parks etc but I've never done a cruise at all. Such a tough choice really.

The whole holiday was firsts for us, first time in the USA, first cruise so had the potential to be really overwhelming. If you do cruise I'd say not to be tempted by a 3 or 4 nighter unless it's something like New York to Florida just because you're only getting in to the swing of thing by day two or three. My wife and 14 year old were massively seasick the first night as Port Canaveral is notortiously choppy. They gave them seasick tablets for free at guest services but they're the drowsy kind so they were ruined well in to the second day. If that had been a 3 night cruise we'd have been screwed.
I couldn't recommend Disney for cruises enough though. As it's family orientated it's way more entertainment based than some that friends of ours have been on. There's no casino or hardcore drinks packages and instead you get a couple of theatres with some good stage shows, a cinema and massive kids clubs. Also an interactive game featuring The Muppets.

I’ve decided I’m not going to the Orlando parks in March. Not the Disney ones, at least. I might do a day at Universal to see the festival. I’m gonna go to Orlando around Halloween next year (for Horror Nights and the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster), so I’m spending the cash on other stuff this time rather than theme park tickets.

My question now though is, what’s the craic with Tokyo Disney? I’m planning on going in 2021 or 2022 for the Nintendo world, but how big/different is the park overall compared to the Orlando and Anaheim setups?

It's similar to Anaheim in terms of content, but is bigger, similar in size to Magic Kingdom part of Orlando. Friend of mine went last year and his main comment was that queues were really bad so there's that to contend with.

Good man! I just booked another weekend, opening weekend, of HHN 30 in september myself. One last hurrah.

As to Tokyo, more Anaheim then Orlando in terms of size. I haven't been but have some friends who have been a few times and they love it, though I think Shanghai is their favourite asia park. Tokyo Disneysea is definely somewhere I would love to go, even more so then the main park.

That Nintendo World looks amazing. Sucks to only have 2 attractions, but that seems to be the theme now for all of these new worlds/lands they create. I assume the Orlando version will open now in Epic Universe rather then the main park which means its a while away yet. Still, if you go to Japan, their Universal still has Jaws so that's another bonus.

Is there a tour operator / holiday company that does Disneyland in Anaheim? I've been having a look around, and I think Virgin might but there's very little info on their website. Everything seems pushed onto Orlando or Paris.

Not especially. They are not really catered for in Europe as the big push/demand is WDW. We were going  to go a few years ago and I think we had quotes with Tui, but they will build a DIY package as they don't have packages as such. Also, there are plenty of hotels literally next door to the park. Some of my friends just booked it with expedia and bought park tickets when they got there.

I’m going to Disneyland Paris 3 weeks today. So excited. First time on Eurostar (always driven before) and first time in a Disney Hotel.

Also finalised the (EIGHT) hotels for the US road trip last night so will be staying in LA - Redondo Beach - for 7 nights and doing both Disney parks. Decided to skip Universal though as we’ve done it before. Any tips on FastPasses for Disney? I know they work differently to Orlando and don’t want to miss out on stuff because we’re not rope drop people.
