Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted January 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2017 i feel like they changed the approach to selling the fight the closer it's gotten. It started off being real pro wrestling-esque but they've reeled it in. When Chael was on the Fight & The Kid Podcast (Chael's worth listening too there), Brendan Schaub told him that Tito was dropping the ball with the promotion and Chael basically agreed with him. Yeah. Chael was on the MMA Hour on Monday and Helwani pretty much said the same thing, but in a nicer way. I've only paid attention to Chael during this, so it has made no difference to me. Paid Members lambyUK Posted January 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) Rather odd behaviour from Sonnen right at the end there flipping out after Raimondi asked him a few questions about the new MMA rules.  Seemed completely out of character and it's probably the first time I've heard him drop the F bomb. Paid Members mim731 Posted January 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) Bloody hell, that Helwani Lite reporter is annoying in those videos. Edited January 19, 2017 by mim731
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2017 Between a general lack of interest in the fight and having other stuff going on at the moment, I've paid Chael vs Tito ZERO attention. Haven't watched a second of the build up or any interviews whatsoever. I'll end up watching the fight and despite his loose relationship with the truth I do have love for Chael, so I think I'll do what ColBol did and give all things Tito a miss and just watch the Chael stuff. So cheers for the videos posted in here.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted January 19, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted January 19, 2017 Just saw that Chael Sonnen interview from MMA Fighting, i can't figure out what it is that got Chael so pissed off? Anyone shed any light?

Anyone shed any light? At a guess it was probably the Couture question that riled him up. It wasn't the best of questions and perhaps Sonnen took it offensively as it could play off their friendship?  I've actually just watched the pre fight presser and it was pretty fun.  Sonnen is certainly playing his role perfectly and seeing Tito lose his shit is hilarious.  I'm pleased the pro wrestling feel has gone from this fight. jimufctna24
I've paid Chael vs Tito ZERO attention. Both are removed enough from this generation to have nostalgia value, but neither have aged well. I'm sure Chael can still work his magic, and that video Lamby posted probably showcases that. However, I just can't get over the stigma of it being him. He used to be the most cutting and witty trash talker in MMA, but he hasn't half ruined those memories in recent years, So much so, that I struggle to have any interest in him. Tito was very much of his time. I'm not surprised he was stinking up the build-up to this fight, he's been a relic for the best part of a decade.  I'll probably end up watching this though. There's no boxing on this weekend, so there's a void to be filled. I think Chael is the better fighter of the two. But with Chael's lay-off, and Tito's activity in Bellator, the deck is stacked in Tito's favour. I see it being a sloppy fight, like the Ortiz vs Bonnar fight, with Tito taking a narrow win on the cards.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted January 20, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted January 20, 2017 In fairness, Chael was on top form during the pre-fight presser.
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted January 20, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 20, 2017 Bellator are always good at promotion. Look how many people they got excited for Kimbo vs Dada? Coker could probably convince Neil DeGrasse Tyson to buy magic beans from him.

Coker could probably convince Neil DeGrasse Tyson to buy magic beans from him. Well besides the other 20 shows they did last year which were about 500,000 viewers average, Bjorn was doing that and he was running weekly shows, without paying big money to UFC stars. Â Coker can do bigger gates, they now run proper buildings, instead of the Indian casinos Rebney ran for a site fee.
Shane O' Mac Version 2
Watched the pre-fight presser for this, Chael was a riot. I haven't watched much Bellator, but I'm going to give this a look. Not just for the "legends" fight, but Brennan Ward seems like the perfect opponent for Paul Daley, talking about standing and trading. Whether it actually goes down like is another story, but I'm sold on those two top fights.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted January 20, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted January 20, 2017 Ward probably will, he's the kind of that can easily get drawn into a dog fight, great fun to watch and he hits like a truck.
