Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Sorry to be all "first to post the death" and all that, but I'm gutted! Lemmy was one of the most interesting men ever to me. The world is a worse place without him. How he lived to 70 is anyones guess, though. Probably had a bonus 25 years on what he should have had to be fair. Â Music!
Paid Members Boycie Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Sad, sad news. He certainly lived life to the full. A true icon. RIP.
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Even though he's 70, and he's been ill for a while, this has totally caught me off guard. Â I probably knew of the legend of his immortality before I'd even bought my first Motorhead album (Iron Fist, on vinyl, back in 1991). Â It just seems so unlikely. Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Yeah, he done well for himself, all things considered. It was only the other day I saw lovable Jim Norton tweet a pic from Lemmy's 70 birthday party and my immediate reaction was "How the hell did he make 70?!". Guess old father time was thinking that too. Â "The Game" is still a belter. Kudos.
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Sad news. True legend in the rock world, but he had a full life to say the least.
Paid Members Tommy! Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Gutted. Just absolutely gutted. Â With all the story's and his approach to music, life and business he was one of a kind, the like of which music probably won't see again. Undefeated Steak
Oh man. One of the true musical icons, not just of rock. He's like Keith Richards, you expect them to live forever. His music legacy was brilliant enough to keep his name relevent for years to come. RIP.

WyattSheepMask
After everything over the last couple of years, you had to think it was just a matter of when it was to happen. Still very sad news though
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Sad news, arguably the most iconic rock star ever. The death seems to have been a long time coming, and whilst it was sad seeing the man continuing on in ill health it almost seemed appropriate, an absolute trooper. Everyone who loves rock music loves Lemmy, Motorhead fan or not.
Guest
Diagnosed with aggressive cancer on the 26th apparently, dead today. I imagine burning him will take 2-3 weeks for the fire to go out.
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 Absolutely crap way to start a day. Motorhead were one of the 4/5 bands that really got me in to music and Lemmy was one of those absolutely impossible characters that you really thought was going to live forever. In many respects, he will. RIP you mad bastard.
sammorgz
Really sad news, despite it being inevitable for quite some time. A true legend of rock and roll. Really glad I got to see Motörhead back in June.
Paid Members DEF Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 A sad day. I'm so glad I got to see Motorhead last year. They really tore it up. My Dad was briefly a roadie for Hawkwind when Lemmy was in the band. By all accounts he was absolutely the legend you imagine he was.
Paid Members Linus Posted December 29, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 29, 2015 I'll always remember him for saying, in 1997, "do you miss Thatcher yet? You will. Labour governments are shit." Â Another dead Nazi-worshipping Tory.
