Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted June 9 Paid Members Posted June 9 Any "Meat" that comes wrapped in that shrink wrapper with the pinched off metal ends is going to be simultaneously disgusting and delicious. The packaging is off the sort that you only normally get dogfood in, normally made by Webox. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted June 9 Paid Members Posted June 9 Yes, the Webox Chubb vibes are strong, but I'm still interested. Quote

Members SuperBacon Posted Tuesday at 07:02 PM Members Posted Tuesday at 07:02 PM I've just had the Rustlers Doner kebab which is every bit as amazing/shit as you imagine it to be. Also, not very eatclean but I've found a very cheap meal for when I really cba. It's simply a packet of microwave rice dumped in a bowl of soup and mixed to make a sort of risotto. Came about when I didn't have much in, a tin of soup didn't seem enough for a meal (and it's not) and I've had it numerous times for my cba dinner. It's really filling as well, and can be achieved for just over a quid. Mexican rice in vegetable soup is the current front runner. Quote

Mine's just 50p own brand rice in the rice cooker with nothing but a bit of Lao Gan Ma on top, perfect. I've actually become a bit of a Chilli Oil hunter, been trying all kinds of pretending brands with some of them actually being just as good with their own distinct tastes. EatClean wise, today I had a "Bread Pakora" which is just a literal sandwich filled with spicy veg stuff and fried in pakora batter. Quote

Get it a lot in Korean restaurants in particular. I don't know why I remember this, but @Vito once posted a recipe for savoury rice pudding, which was basically a tin of Heinz Cream of Chicken & Mushroom with rice in it. I've meant to give it a go, but never had the presence of mind to do it. Quote

Have you tried the Paneer pakora? The bread is replaced with two expertly sliced pieces of Paneer. It's terribly amazing. Make sure they dust the pakoras with Mango powder. I think its called "aamchoor". The pakoras must be fried fresh. Never have one that's been reheated, Never! Edited yesterday at 05:32 AM by BigJag Quote
Merzbow Posted yesterday at 09:41 AM Posted yesterday at 09:41 AM I have! One of the smaller sweet shops around here also does Paneer Samosas which are lovely with a bit of tamarind sauce. Quote
deathrey Posted yesterday at 10:31 AM Posted yesterday at 10:31 AM (edited) Bread Pakoras are a staple of my childhood. If my mum was making Pakoras any left over batter was moped up with bread and we would annihilate them. Tried to get my youngest son to eat one last week (my mum made Pakoras for his birthday celebrations) and the idiot wouldn't touch them. Paneer spring rolls are the absolute best. They have the most amazing Paneer samosas. If we are ever in the area. We will take an uncooked quantity back to Leicester. We can then freeze them for future cooking. https://maps.app.goo.gl/WU7zKWjwyMyrfsE19 Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted yesterday at 12:27 PM Members Posted yesterday at 12:27 PM I love Indian food but I've never got on with paneer and it makes me a bit sad. Also if you visit Southall, you can also easily visit the greatest place in the world, Hounslow Quote
Paid Members BigJag Posted 23 hours ago Paid Members Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Hmmm. I know both areas quite well. If it wasn't for having family in the area I wouldn't be rushing to go to either spot. Conveniently placed for day trips into that London. Shahensha is definitely worth the visit. Those Paneer Samosas are that good. @superbacon The Paneer in the samosa at Shahensha is rough chopped to a consitency that isn't quite minced. It's definitely NOT like the panneer in a spring roll. The pastry is crunchy and flaky but doesnt just melt away. Every bite is almost a meal in one. I wouldn't order more than two. One is plenty. Their Tamarind sauce is quite thin and has finely chopped shallots within it. It's an experience I highly reccomend. Service isn't great. They arent rude but they know wat they have and they aren't overly polite. You go in . Order. Receive your order. Leave. Theres a small eat in area. I find it a bit exposed and not to my liking. The food carries the place. Please do go and enjoy it. Edited 9 hours ago by BigJag Quote

So your mum basically made pakora fried bread? I’ve never met the lady, but I’m in love with her! Quote
