And lose because safe New Japan 50/50. You're right of course, but who do you see him dropping a clean fall to? Of course, he could always drop a pinfall in the final against Okada, it just doesn't sound that likely to me. If EVIL gets past ZSJ I could see Naito playing a role in that match to get Ibushi out. Vamp Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Trying to wrap my head around Colt Cabana being in it. Does he still do the British wrestling tribute act stuff? Quote

On the combined shows he was on last week it was mostly comedy stuff with Yano and Cheeseburger. Looks to be a set up to them second round Quote
ultimo the great Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Does anyone remember Stu Max who used to run the Strong Style Spirit network of sites, board and one of the main guys for New Japan news for years and years? Found guilty of stalking and possession of child porn It's so easy to find out news now but back in the early 2000's SSS was a god send. you really never know who you're chatting to online ? Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Ibushi/White is a given at MSG now surely? Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted March 7, 2019 Paid Members Posted March 7, 2019 (edited) Jushin Liger has announced he will be retiring at the January Dome show. Edited March 7, 2019 by BomberPat Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Great photo this, I’d assume going off New Japan’s usual booking that these will probably be the semi final pairings for the New Japan Cup. Quote
Paid Members Accident Prone Posted March 7, 2019 Paid Members Posted March 7, 2019 (edited) Christ, Jay White is bang average, isn't he? Great look, has the character down to a tee, but in-ring he does nothing for me. Not even Ospreay could get an above-par match out him. I found myself bored shitless whenever Jay was in control, which is a stark 180 to the Okada/Ospreay match from last year's anniversary show. I think we're getting Okada vs White at MSG, with an Ibushi/Tanahashi tag match as well. Not got much hope for anything else seeing as ROH are involved. Edited March 7, 2019 by Accident Prone Quote
westlondonmist Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Ticket prices for the London show announced at £30 to £120. I'll probably go for around £50 myself. Can't wait for the show. https://www.njpw1972.com/45579 Quote

Paid Members Accident Prone Posted March 7, 2019 Paid Members Posted March 7, 2019 If you fancy making the weekend of it, there's Rev Pro shows at the York Hall (Friday) and at The Cockpit (Sunday) too. Quote
AdamTH17 Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Those prices would suggest a stacked card as well. If they bring Ibushi over, I'll book my tickets within the hour. Haven't seen the 47th Anniversary Show yet, but saw they're doing Ishimori vs Dragon Lee at MSG. That's going to be a great match, and would serve as a great way into returning Hiromu given his history with both men. Outline of the show becoming clearer and clearer. I can see us ending up with something like: Switchblade vs Okada for the IWGP Championship Lethal defending the ROH Championship against...someone? Scurll, maybe? Is he still pushed? Naito vs Ibushi for the Intercontinental Championship GoD vs Briscoes Ishimori vs Lee Cobb vs Ospreay for...something? Probably the NEVER belt. And then fill in the rest of the card with the likes of Tanahashi, Suzuki, ZSJ, Ishii etc. Quote
westlondonmist Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Just noticed pat's post. I hope Liger makes it back to the UK before he retires. My favourite wrestler EVER, and I go wild every time I see him. Quote

I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't include him. Quote
Snitsky's back acne Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 I'm sure I saw that Liger was planning to travel the world before retiring. Given how vital the UK was to his development and how long he spent working here I'd be shocked if we didn't see him at least once over here. Quote
