CAREBEAR LUVVA
There used to be a shop by Southport station called Steve Holden International Trading. The sign was black letters on a white background, apart from the first letter of each word which was huge and written in red. No idea what it sold but whatever it was I bet it stunk. Loki
Here in Guildford we used to have a half decent chicken shop, but it closed and was replaced by the suspicious sounding  Which does fried chicken and... chinese food.  Hmm.
Moderators neil Posted August 28, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 28, 2014 My friends used to live in Stoke Newington and one of them used to trot up to a place called "Chicken Klub" and barter with the owner to get a couple chicken wings with whatever cash he had. Paid Members air_raid Posted August 28, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 28, 2014 There are millions of good ones in Japan. "Pub Food Yuki" was one of my favourites.  I think this post just proves that we've all spent far too much time watching Bottom growing up   Blasphemy.  I have just started working with a girl in her early 20s that is a big Bottom fan. I am obviously planning to marry her.

WyattSheepMask
Matrix, I remember legal food in Lincoln. Straight down Main Street near Sincil Bank. Never tried anything as the name would scare any normal person off. Â Hull has 'Top Fired Chicken' and I remember being in Derby one time and there was a takeaway called 'Nads'
Paid Members JNLister Posted August 28, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 28, 2014 Stockport has a factory with a big sign for Universal AIDS Ltd. Â I'm sure it's a bogus story, but supposedly a bloke in Manchester changed his name to Ken Tucky so he could open a fried chicken shop without being sued. I'm sure that's a Duncan Thickett gag.  New Jersey Fried Chicken, on the north circular — that's a fave. And the former grease bucket London chinatown restaurant, Won Kee — 4 floors of various inedible buffet for a low low price — I found a rubber band AND a bottle cap in the fried wings on the same visit. King Coconut
There's a meat processing plant on the motorway here and their slogan is 'nice to meat you'. That instantly raises my suspicion.

Paid Members gmoney Posted August 28, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 28, 2014 "Chinese Food To Take Away" - hardly inspiring, if they can't even be bothered to come up with a decent name then I imagine they don't put much effort in with the food either.   There used to be one near me called "Zone 2000". I never tried it myself, but I like to think you could have a quick round of LazerQuest before your food was ready.
Loki
Is LaserQuest still going? Â how smelly must those suits be by now?
