WyattSheepMask
Wouldn't you say that when Mankind was the champion, it was during the boom period and more a case of the WWF brand was what was selling rather Mankind being the champion
Merzbow
Hogans reigns would have been from 91 and 93, right? I can see the 93 run having such low numbers but was business that bad in 91?
Ant
The house show numbers seem a bit low at times. Â Eg April 1992 was essentially Wrestlemania then a huge European tour with 2 rosters. Incredibly popular time for the company, surprised the average head count is so low.

Ranmoor
Hadn't the US boom ended by 92 anyway, despite still going strong in Europe. Thanks to Bret Hart obviously.

Yes with Hogan leaving the company and the bad media coverage because of the scandals and steroid abuse they got. Not to mention that Nailz almost choked the fucker to death. It's safe to say that 1992 was a year Vince would rather forget. Edited September 17, 2014 by Lemon Juice

Maybe have a look at history of WWE to see if there was small US house shows either side.
Paid Members mim731 Posted November 11, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted November 11, 2014 Sorry for bumping an old thread, but Mick Foley is doing a Reddit AMA in about half an hour. Given his hypersensitivity to criticism, that might get quite interesting.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted December 15, 2014 Awards Moderator Share Posted December 15, 2014 Anyone catch Foley on the Daily Show the other night? He's made a documentary about people who pretend to be / think they are Santa.

DCW
Stewart mentioned Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns on the Daily Show last week. He (or one of his writers) must be a wrestling fan.

He (or one of his writers) must be a wrestling fan. I think it's Stewart himself, or at least his son. I'm sure he ended that bit last week with "... I watch far too much wrestling". Foley's been on the show a few times, and I'm sure he's used Zeb Colter clips before too.

He did a fun bit after Wrestlemania about the Undertaker losing the streak. There are some surprising fans out there - Alan Moore used to be a big fan, and quite a few comedians/comic-book writers are.
Pinc
The webmaster of KayfabeNews.com is a gigging physicist at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Canada, which is a pretty big deal; Stephen Hawking is a Visiting Research Chair there (though I don't know if he's also a fan). Paid Members Chris B Posted December 15, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted December 15, 2014 This would probably make a pretty good topic in its own right.
