I'm honestly thinking of suspending the next person who says that. According to reports from them, he's over like Stan Lane wearing a sequined tuxedo in Memphis at the house shows. And that's the crowd they want for Reigns. Remember how much of their revenue is made on house shows, and remember how those crowds aren't TV/PPV crowds. Wrestling's more than a weekly Monday and a monthly Sunday. There's five shows a week, not one. And three of those are predominately full of families who are somewhat casual with money burning holes in their pockets at the gimmick table, and that's why WWE is rightly or wrongly pushing through with Reigns. It sounds like bollocks to me as surely a house show has a much cheaper cost than a episode of Raw or Smackdown and the fact its a cheaper cost and the merch sales with the family crowd as Butch mentioned should be a massive money maker.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted March 1, 2015 Moderators Posted March 1, 2015 If the house shows didn't make much money they probably wouldn't have them, or at least not have two crews simultaneously like they do. Talent have talked on shoots about how they probably make more money at house shows than TVs, so they're probably making more profit off them proportionately than TVs. It's just a very different crowd to TV and PPV, but I'd argue a more important one as the people going to TV and PPV are never going to desert them. The majority of people booing Reigns will still be watching at Wrestlemania 32 regardless of result, there's no such guarantee little Kevin from Bumfuck Colorado still will be in a year if his favourites aren't in favourable positions. I MC for a company which caters to families, where we want to sell foam fingers to all, and the amount of Reigns merch on youngsters is impressive.

Always thought the match would have been on the main PPV if it was going to go more than 30 seconds. It was just there to do the Yoko falling gimmick and making Austin the ultimate opportunist.

He only won it because someone had to after the curtain call, and there was seemingly no real plans for him in the months afterwards. Proper holding pattern stuff. If Bret didn't request Austin for Survivor Series he'd have probably have still fannied around the mid card doing a lot of nothing like he did from June to November.

Porkchopcash Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I think Heyman is overated and verges on being quite annoying, almost boring at times. Probably not all his fault as he has to fill X amount of time talking about the same thing and has done for almost a year now, but still i just do not see to the same extent what everyone else seems to. I love hearing him on dvds and on commentary but as a manager i think hes good but not great.

Including the merchandise sales, house shows made a total profit of $27.8 million in 2014. Total revenue on house shows was $110 million, so it's a healthy enough profit margin.
