Lemon Juice
Always remembered a time in Liquid nightclub they played The Brood/Gangrel theme. Every fucker on the dance floor loved it even though most wouldn't of even known what the track was from. Â Made you wanna pour Ribena all over the place. Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted September 19, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 19, 2014 There's a great song going around in my head now: "If I was that annoying and poxy when I first joined. I apologise profuesely."
Sphinx
I think I prefer Talking Book to Songs In The Key Of Life, though that's a great album too. Still haven't listened to Innervisions other than Living For The City and Golden Lady.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted November 12, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted November 12, 2014 Oh man, that's a shame. He was definitely my favourite on Rapper's Delight. Especially on the 12" version where he starts banging on about Superman:  She said, "Damn, fly guy, I'm in love with youThe Casanova legend must have been true"I said, "By the way, baby, what's your name?"Said, "I go by name of Lois LaneAnd you could be my boyfriend, you surely can,Just let me quit my boyfriend called Superman."I said, "He's a fairy, I do supposeFlyin' through the air in pantyhoseHe may be very sexy, or even cute,But he looks like a sucker in a blue and red suit,"I said, "You need a man man who's got finesseAnd his whole name across his chestHe may be able to fly all through the night,But can he rock a party 'til the early light? He can't satisfy you with his little worm,But I can bust you out with my super sperm!"I go do it, I go do it, I go do it, do it, do it.An' I'm here an' I'm there, I'm Big Ban Hank, I'm everywhere  Tremendous. R.I.P. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted November 12, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) My favourite verse in that song is the guy talking about going around his mates house for dinner, but his mate's mum is a shit cook. Who does that bit? Â Edit - Wonder Mike, it seems. He is clearly the best in the group. Â Â Have you ever went over a friend's house to eat And the food just ain't no good I mean the macaroni's soggy the peas are mushed And the chicken tastes like wood So you try to play it off like you think you can By saying that you're full And then your friend says "momma he's just being polite He ain't finished uh-uh that's bull" So your heart starts pumping and you think of a lie And you say that you already ate And your friend says "man there's plenty of food So you pile some more on your plate" While the stinky food's steaming your mind starts to dreaming Of the moment that it's time to leave And then you look at your plate and your chickens slowly rotting Into something that looks like cheese Oh so you say that's it I got to leave this place I don't care what these people think I'm just sitting here making myself nauseous With this ugly food that stinks So you bust out the door while its still closed Still sick from the food you ate And then you run to the store for quick relief From a bottle of kaopectate And then you call your friend two weeks later To see how he has been And he says "I understand about the food Baby but bubbah we're still friends" Edited November 12, 2014 by Chest Rockwell
Sphinx
Had been thinking for a few months a chart funk song could work. Had been planning to try do some funk stuff when I got a chance to jam with my mate. Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars have released Uptown Funk which I imagine will do well. He also has another James Brown sounding song with the rapper Mystikal which is pretty good too called Feel Right. Â Only just found out David Bowie was in a grunge band called Tin Machine. Rey_Piste
Bruno Mars is really shit, if its not him singing songs that are boring acoustic wank sounding like Jack Johnson he's ripping off the Police with dull reggae. That uptown Funk is brilliant, it's all because of Mark Ronson, his first solo album was really good even though most of the artists are wank. My favourite track off it has to be the cover of Britney Spears Toxic, if only for the random ODB verse.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted December 11, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2014 Yeah, Mark Ronson has made some really good music even though he is a bit of a knob, and The Business International are complete tossers.
Sphinx
Bruno Mars is a good pop songwriter. His voice is alright too. No big beef with him for my radio friendly hits. Not gonna go out of my way to listen to him though. Â Mark Ronson seems like a great producer from the songs I have hears from him. The Business International do indeed seem like complete tossers.
