davertfnewman Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 This is Maddie, who's just turned three. A Cockapoo ostensibly bought for my mom in her waning years due to dementia, but she never took to her while I did. She's next to me right now, snoring away, while I type this. Having lost my mom in recent weeks but having lost the essence of her a long time ago due to the effect that dementia had on her, Maddie has become my companion and helped fill a big gap my dad and I had when mom wasn't really mom any more. Love her to pieces and she loves me too. Quote

Members SuperBacon Posted January 27 Members Posted January 27 In an amazing turn of events, me and Nova are spending two nights in a hotel (long story, don't ask) It was an absolute faff to find one that takes cats. "You want to bring your cat?" No I just thought I'd ask if you accept cats mate. For a laugh. Anyway, found a lovely one. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We're gonna watch some Freeview. Paid Members BomberPat Posted February 2 Paid Members Posted February 2 I have been watching them intently for any excuse to get a photo I can caption, "oh Vic, I've fallen". Quote

lars85 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Came across a couple of photos from around Christmas. And one from when we first got him. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted April 10 Paid Members Posted April 10 My sister’s gone on holiday so we’re dogsitting this big pudding. It’s made me really realise how much I’ve missed having a dog around the place since our golden retriever died a few years ago. She might not get him back. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted April 17 Paid Members Posted April 17 Vicky had been looking after a friend's cat over the new years, and picked him up a little catnip goose toy from Pets At Home, but left it at mine, where it got claimed by Sapphire. His name is now "Goosy" and he's become Sapphire's teddy bear for at night when we're in bed. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted April 17 Members Posted April 17 Nova has always been an indoors cat, but we recently moved to a farm (yes really) and she's been loving sitting out on the window sill. The owner is going to put a secure net/mesh type thing over the window and the ledge so she can have a little bed out there and chill out and be safe, as to be honest there's loads of feral cats about, wandering cows, chickens, you name it. There is a small enclosed porch between my place and the main farm, and she's allowed there if I'm in. She loves it here. She's still the most beautiful, best cat ever. Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without her. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted April 17 Paid Members Posted April 17 Sapphire has been venturing out if I've been somewhere and gotten home, but it always feels more like it's to try and figure out where I've been. She's usually back in soon enough when she realises I'm actually home. I'm contemplating getting a big mesh for either the door or window for when it warms up and I need to let some air in. Quote
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted April 18 Paid Members Posted April 18 Planning to put our two month old chickens outside in the coop tomorrow, but this guy was in there eating an egg today. Sent the picture to my mum, she asked "what's that?" Don't know what to say, really, so I said "my congressman." She wasn't happy. Quote
