Members SuperBacon Posted July 31, 2025 Members Posted July 31, 2025 Happy 7th birthday to Nova, the absolute best cat there has ever been. Completely unimpressed with thunder on her birthday, but she's had 3x cat yoghurts and has just fallen asleep. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted August 25, 2025 Members Posted August 25, 2025 Looking after my daughters cat for a few days as they're away. He's an outdoor cat, but despite previously living 10 seconds away until not that long ago, he obviously doesn't know to come back to my house. So they brought round a harness for me to use to let him in the garden to go to the toilet. Long story short, last night he slipped out of it and legged it over the wall at about 11pm. Cue me out for an hour with a bag of Dreamies and a torch but he kept giving me the slip. All the while the back door is open as he might come back, but MY cat is an indoors cat, so I'm constantly having to go back to check she hasn't run away. No sleep last night, out in the field behind my house at 5am this morning, and he's just laying there chilling with a female cat, but he won't come to me. At least he hasn't gone far, and he'll probably stay around this area as its familiar, but the girls aren't back until Thursday. Fuck sake. Look at him! Such a shitbag, but a handsome one. He can go to a cattery next time. Quote
lars85 Posted September 3, 2025 Posted September 3, 2025 (edited) He's usually more of a bat hound, but I watched Superman and thought I'd try the Krypto look. Couldn't find just the cape so I got him the full costume. Edited September 5, 2025 by lars85 . Quote

First morning as mentioned, he was chilling with a female cat. Second morning he was sat in the fields... ...and then chased after some deer. The next day he just sat staring at me from the bushes... ...and since then its been the same routine. I go out early morning and evening and try and convince him out and every morning and evening he refuses to come near. We did think that when my ex and the girls came back from Italy he'd come straight to them but that hasn't happened. It doesn't help that we live surrounded by farmland with probably ample food opportunities and places to shelter, and maybe we accept that he now just lives in the fields behind my house. Sometimes he comes back and sits on my wall... ...but he still isnt interested in coming in. That first time he came back to the garden, I was also looking after Fauna, who is my daughters dog, and he must've seen her in my house and thought "Christ, he's kidnapped her as well!" Anyway I'm sure he'll come to his senses one day, but the irony is I only looked after him as they were worried about leaving him potentially outside for 3 days while they were on holiday. May as well have just left him to it. Speaking of Fauna, she is the best behaved dog ever. One hairy moment when she eas staying where she got out the front door and chased a Tesco van and I was facing the prospect of losing the cat AND the dog in a week, but luckily she came back to me. My cat continues to be the best cat ever obviously. She'd never run away. Quote
lars85 Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 Birthday boy. He ignored most of the presents he got and instead chewed up some newspaper pages that blew into the garden. Quote
