Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted July 12, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) What exactly caused this? Musclebuster gone wrong? Â Real shame, if Tyson's neck injury is that severe. Edited July 12, 2015 by ColinBollocks
Paid Members Linus Posted July 12, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted July 12, 2015 It's just a freak accident. Slightly the wrong angle with slightly the wrong pressure. Joe didn't do anything he hasn't done safely a thousand times. Ditto for Kidd. These things, sadly, just happen occasionally.
Jon-Carr_92
Kidd was actually at the first show I ever went to 9 years ago at Butlins on a school residential along with Galloway. Was totally shocked when I found out he'd got signed along with Drew a few months later. Sad when it has to end like this.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted July 12, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) Another example of the fact that wrestling is dangerous. These things sadly happen, and happen quite regularly. The Rock is one of the few big stars who isnt a broken down mess. And he's relatively young, and seems to get injured every time he wrestles (his two matches with Cena fucked him up badly). Its seems to be a given that if you get into wrestling, you're leaving with fucked up knees or a badly damaged neck. Â Kurt Angle is the acid test. Joe did that move to him about a 100 times since 2006. If he isnt hurting Kurt Angle with the move, then it must have been fluke accident. Its a shame for him, because Tyson Kidd had finally found his feet after years of being in the company. Liam O'Rourke
That's absolutely horrific news. Don't want to assign blame for a fluke accident with no recklessness involved, but you also feel cheap writing it off as "one of those things". Wonder how much of it was a "straw that broke the camels back" effect after years of bumps, or if it was one thing doing all the damage.

Plus his cardio wasn't the best during the Punk feud. He had to tell him to slow down because he couldn't keep up with him.
Paid Members JNLister Posted July 12, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted July 12, 2015 That's not quite what Meltzer said. He actually said that from what he's been told only about five percent of people with that injury survive and almost all of those who do are left quadriplegic. The way I interpreted it was "Kidd is incredibly lucky not to be in a wheelchair" rather than "It's almost certain he'll end up in a wheelchair". hallicks
And it was having such a muscular neck that saved him.
d-d-d-dAz
Yeah, the moral of Meltzers story was how lucky Kidd is to have avoided that fate not that he was heading that way. Â He dodged a bullet. Â If he's smart, he'll step away from the game altogether. It doesn't sound like that's the plan, though. Apparently he wants to be back after 14 months. Paid Members Carbomb Posted July 12, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted July 12, 2015 Apart from Kidd, who else has been injured by it? I haven't read or heard anything.
Guest
Is it even proven that the musclebuster was the cause?
