I really should start shrinking these links down.

There's a sale on Sega published titles on Steam to celebrate their 60th anniversary. Up to 95% off.

With Sonic 2 as a freebie.

Trying to think of some stuff I might want for Christmas.

Can anyone recommend any good retro gaming books? Ideally ones with some decent photos in too.

Not sure if there are any good arcade specific ones or if retro gaming tends to come under one umbrella.

Thanks.

Take a shoofty at https://www.fusionretrobooks.com/

I've bought a random selection from them over the years and have never been disappointed.  A lot of their books are available pretty cheaply as PDFs if you wanted a relatively low cost look before buying a coffee table version.

Echo the love for Fusion, used to write for their old website back in the day and know Chris well. The US Gold book is a blast and the rest of the publications are immense too.

There's some great free/pay what you want retro gaming encyclopedia PDF's here as well;

https://daddarulekonge.itch.io/

Also, if you've got a Readly membership they have a sizeable chunk of the Retro Gamer back catalogue on demand, as well as several retro gaming annuals, compendiums and bookazines. Well worth the subscription price alone (get a sneaky free trial on me).

If anyone has a standard JAMMA cab with CRT in working condition that they want to sell, shout me. Finding them harder to come by these days. Cheers!

As part of the Sega 60th anniversary celebrations Sega have a big old Steam Sale on at the moment. There are also discounts on Sega's stuff on Switch as well right now. If you sign up here and link this Sega newsletter to your Steam account they'll also give you a free copy of NiGHTS into Dreams.

I'm looking forward to the Streets of Rage/Yakuza mash-up, one of several freebies available for a very limited time.

43 quid for the Mini Mega Drive! It's a pretty decent little console, much better than the old ATgames rubbish.

Sorry to ask a stupid question, but are the controllers wireless?

They're wired and both are the 3 button kind,

Gah. Thanks. I prefer wired controllers but they're very unpractical with small children rollicking around

Cheers, that was a no brainer...

How easy is it to hack?

Led to believe it's pretty easy, which is why I've ordered one too despite owning the Mega Drive collection on Switch.
