The Gaffer Posted January 5 Posted January 5 The Forbidden Door is opening tonight. I kinda wish I was even half following both soaps in the run up just to get a small buzz off it but hey ho. The trailer for this on the actual honest-to-god Coronation Street YouTube channel is so badly put together - with precisely zero comments - that it reinforces what a strange time warp soaps sit in. Still massive enough to pull in a few million, but without ever seeming like a current talking point. Hopefully they just form an alliance and show up in Walford for scenes they're not on the call sheets for. That'll pique my interest. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted January 5 Paid Members Posted January 5 My favourite part is the bloke softly asking, "Is everyone alright?" at the end, while they may as well be showing Hiroshima in the background. Quote

Mr_Danger Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Steve’s double take of Jai/Vikram was by far the greatest thing the metaverse has ever done. Just needed the Shameless fella who is the landlord of The Rovers/The Jockey in Shameless and his mum/Mr Doyle/Franks Mrs in Shameless to pop their heads around the corner and accuse him of bumming teenage boys in the back of his shop for a triple cross over. Probably couldn’t get the rights from Chanel 4 though. Notoriously protective of their IP which is why I assume Sinbad and Mick have never done a double character crossover in their respective soaps. I'd forgotten Shameless existed until I read this. Probably belongs in the soap thread given its eventual dwindling returns but I liked it up until Paddy got on the smack and left the show, Frank started doing Lesnar dates, and they strapped the rocket to Mimi Maguire and whoever Mrs. Doyle was playing. I take it you haven't watched the Hollyoaks anniversary episodes, or I am being very dense and missed the joke completely. Quote

If I restarted watching Hollyoaks after all these years I’m pretty sure my Mrs would have me put on some sort of register. Quote

Well non spoiler alert then, turns out they're in the same universe and Mick is actually the same person as his character in Hollyoaks, and he either faked his own death or stole someone's identity or something and is now a copper. One thing I never expected was one day Mrs Doyle turning up on Shameless and getting her tits out and getting smashed by Frank Gallagher. I needed more than a cup of tea upon seeing that. Quote

He was filling in Liz McDonald for a stint as well. He was called Mike which is awfully similar to Mick! They couldn’t could they? Quote

I mean his Hollyoaks storyline entry was finding his secret 3rd kid he never knew about from a fling who had been living with his 2nd kid from his 2nd life while the 1st kid I assume thought he was dead... So yeah I'd say anything is possible when they're all based up north. Quote
The Gaffer Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The lovely chap and obvious UKFF lurker who done the Hayley Cropper video is back with one on Brookie! Quote
