Sometimes you see it for one price, then it goes up when you try and buy it. Quote

These days they don't go for quite so much, but years ago they could go for about £60-£70. I know as I did quite well out of buying and selling them for a while. These days they're more around the £20-£25 mark. When I bought my original one I got it from high street shop the Works for £4, I was so pissed off I didn't buy more then as they had a huge pile of them. Quote

Planning on buying either one to read and hopefully get signed by some former ECW stars. If it's glossy ECW pictures you're after, I think there were some in Hardcore History: The Extremely Unauthorised History of ECW (courtesy of George Tahinos). I must say I'm jealous of anyone finding wrestling book gold in charity shops, as I don't think I've found that many over the years. Certainly not ones that I didn't already have, anyway. I did stumble across The Fabulous Moolah's book in a secondhand bookshop in Prague fairly recently but, I mean, you know... Quote

There are a few pages of pics but they are fairly small (several pics per page.) Quote

It has been a good fifteen years since I looked at the book tbf! Also, if you wanted glossy ECW pictures there's probably hundreds of wrestling mags from that era that have them. Quote

SaitoRyo Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 Batista's is a quick read, but there's some interesting stuff in there. IIRC it was one of the first (if not the first) WWE book to come out after the Benoit tragedy, and there's a bit in it where he basically says something to the effect of 'I know the company won't like this, but fuck it, this is my book and Benoit was a friend and I'm not going to pretend he didn't exist'. There's also him burying Sarge from chasing him away from the WCW power plant, burying Bubba Dudley for being an asshole and him refusing to apologise for shagging Melina, even though it caused a big deal of heat for all involved. Thefatduck Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 Got myself a nice voucher for Waterstones for Christmas which I’ve just remembered about. Going to get at least one wrestling book. I’ve read Bret’s, Jericho’s and foley’s books. read Gewirtz book and most recently The Wrestling by Simon Garfield what is funk’s book like? Is it well written or a collection of poorly articulated anecdotes that end with ‘needless to say, I had the last laugh’ owing to his catastrophic head injuries? any suggestions? Quote
