Emmure have been around forever, although I’ve not heard anything they’ve put out for at least 15 years so can’t really comment about where they’re at these days.

Their 2008 album ‘The Respect Issue’ featured a certain Olympic Gold Medalist who you might recognise on the cover though

In other news, it’s only taken 6 years of negotiations, but Body Count are finally playing Bloodstock. Shame they’re on the Sunday and not part of the stacked Friday Main Stage, but that’s how they get you to buy weekend tickets.
Slaughter to Prevail can still fuck off though

Download making their first announcement at 9:15pm on Monday November 3rd.

If Ghost don’t headline then I’m convinced that the bookers have completely lost the plot

You'd imagine they're a shoe in.

I did wonder if Deftones might get one of the headline slots. That Crystal Palace show last year felt like an opportunity to show they could draw big.

Them touring in February might put the kibosh on that. Not that it's a definite sign they won't, but I'd be surprised.

I said last November that Download 2026 would have Ghost and Linkin Park as two of the headliners. I’m still convinced that is what will happen, but I’m genuinely at a loss as to who they’ll have as the third.

Metallica, Iron Maiden and System Of A Down are all out as they’re all playing their own massive shows shortly afterwards, Rammstein are probably a no-go as they can make more doing stadium shows.
With Megadeth calling it a day after this new album do you push them into the ‘heritage’ headliner slot? I doubt they’d sell any extra tickets as a result, but if gives MegaDave the big send off and makes him think he’s on Metallica’s level

I will be surprised if ghost are one of the main headliners this soon, it's happening and without question going to be given but they still feel below a main stage headline name right now IMO.

Linkin park are without question happening the second they got announced for rock AM ring it locked them for download and if so they are all I need to get my ticket I've waited since I was 12/13 ish too see them live and my youngest boy we called Chester so heath very personal and earned the time it's taken lol

I've seen muse thrown about I think that could be possible with the new album out next year headlining download is probably the biggest British festival position and well earned.

I'm desperate for the last to be my chem more than anything it would make my world getting those two but I'm not confident with my chem yet again missing in a spot longed for since they reformed still nothing yet in terms of a major British festival performance the FIGHT is download Vs reading and Leeds I would bet.

Ghost are as big as a non-legacy metal band can get in this era.

At this point, anyone left waiting around for them to get a little bit bigger before they can headline Download probably needs to readjust their expectations for this ballpark of music and how its festivals should future-proof it.

With all due respect, you’re dead wrong with this assessment, and I’m not just saying that being a massive Ghost fan.

They've been at it for over 15 years and last time they played in the sub-headline spot. Since then they’ve grown in popularity again thanks to a successful concert film and embarked another successful European and U.S. arena tour that saw them play Madison Square Garden for the first time (which I attended, but I don’t think I’ve mentioned it ?).

They’ve got another block of U.S. dates early next year, and this will be the absolute right time for them to headline Download to round out this albums cycle.

For what it’s worth, they’ve got 4 million more Spotify listeners than Sleep Token who headlined last year and are absolutely massive

I don't even like Ghost but I couldn't argue with them getting the headline slot next year.  They are huge with the current generation and I'd say bigger than Sleep Token who headlined this year (who I also didn't like, but understood why they were in that position).  They headlined the second stage a couple of years ago and packed that out too.  Either way better than fucking Muse, who are up their with Biffy Clyro on the "how the fuck are they still headlining?" list.

It's a shame you didn't get to see them with Chester as his vocals live were incredible. I've been lucky enough to see them around 10 times, from CD:UK tapings to festivals, and each time was wicked.

First Arctangent announcement has gone out. I'm mainly excited for Chat Pile and Heck plus the return of us Swamp Coffin boys on the Wednesday.

I'd genuinely never heard anything by Oathbreaker until a couple of hours ago. Jesus Christ. Looking forward to seeing who the headliners will be, there's a big Napalm Death rumour and I'd like to see Converge and Deafheaven back there.

It’s a no from me

There would be enough there for me to have a great weekend to be honest. We'll definitely end up at one of the days with the kids.
