Mr_Danger
Yeah the ending of The Mist was stupid. The sort of thing you'd write for your GCSE English coursework.

Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted September 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2014 My favourite ending is the ending of Birdie, the film where Matthew Modine has post traumatic stress disorder and thinks he's a bird, I don't want to spoil it so um, watch it or something
Paid Members Maverick Posted September 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2014 Nicholas Cage in that film really reminded me of Foley as Mankind
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted September 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2014 The ending to The Mist was excellent. Unexpected and didn't take the easy option like the US version of The Vanishing.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2014 Unexpected is fine, but it also has to make sense and it didn't. They should have kept the ending to the book. Then they might have been able to do a sequel as well. Stephen King is an idiot.
Mr_Danger
The ending to Take Shelter is brilliant and strangely satisfying. The Thing (Kurt Russell one) is probably the best though or Karate Kid (Pat Morita one).
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2014 I loved the ending to Take Shelter. Wonderfully interpretive. Most of John Carpenter's best films have great ambiguous endings, but none of them are better than Prince Of Darkness which really is shit-your-pants scary. Moderators PowerButchi Posted September 24, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 24, 2014 The best ending is Millers Crossing. Back to the Status Quo, all achieved by the seemingly cold Tom's (not gay) love for Leo.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2014 I forget how great the ending is to Miller's Crossing because the whole film is just perfect.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted September 24, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 24, 2014 Greatest gangster film ever. Possibly greatest film.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 25, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted September 25, 2014 I said a while back that if science could prove what the best film ever made was then my money would be on Miller's Crossing.
Clumsy Dad
Some great endings have already been mentioned; my favourite that hasn’t come up yet is Boogie Nights. I could watch that last five minutes, from when the montage with God Only Knows begins playing, then the tracking shot following Jack around his house before finishing on Dirk Diggler’s pep talk to himself, over and over. I know some people find it quite down beat but I think it’s really uplifting. Edited September 25, 2014 by Clumsy Dad
Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted October 1, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 1, 2014 They're making a movie of Tetris  The CEO of the company developing it says; "It's a very big, epic sci-fi movie. This isn't a movie with a bunch of lines running around the page"  Fucking hell, I hope it at least has the song in it.
