For anyone wondering how Benn has been sanctioned:

Quote

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoc) is against the fight, which will be sanctioned by the rival British and Irish Boxing Authority (Biba).

Benn - whose last fight was a defeat by Irishman Steve Collins 23 years ago - has passed all Biba's medical tests, while there will be a specialist in head trauma and a portable brain scanner available at ringside on fight night.

Apparently, Benn isn't skint either. He's making the comeback in the interest of "closure" according to his promoter.

Regardless, it's almost certainly going to be car-crash TV. It'll probably be boxing's answer to Liddel vs Ortiz 3.

Yeah, I haven’t watched the interview yet but the talks of Benn vs Eubank 3 have been going years, haven’t they? With Benn saying Eubank was basically giving him the runaround when they were trying to put it together. I’ve always thought Eubank was on the windup with all that. I vaguely recall rumblings of Benn vs Collins when the Eubank stuff fell through but obviously nothing came of it.

He shouldn’t be in there and I’m fully expecting Bika to do a job on him. But with it being Benn, the fighter who originally made me a Boxing fan and the fight being in Birmingham at a venue about 20 minutes from my house, I’ve got to be there.

I only found out fairly recently that my uncle was actually in attendance for Benn vs Eubank 1 at the NEC in Birmingham in 1990. Hate him for that. Even though I was only 5 years old at the time and didn’t even really know what Boxing was yet. It’ll be weird to see him fight again full stop, but the fact it’s going to be at the same arena where he fought Eubank even more.

That's pretty much Benn's take on it.

He claims Eubank messed around too much. He had a deal in place with Collins, but then Collins started asking for guaranteed money and they broke off negotiations.

Eubank, for all his bluster and showmanship, isn't a mug. He's not stepping into a boxing ring at 53 years old.

That's right, he's not an egg
