Some talk of wrestlers playing Bret's hits in the other thread. What are some of your favourite examples of wrestlers paying homage to some greats? Can be anything but I like it when it's their gear. The women in wrestling do it really well, here's Willow besting them all though.

Willow Nightingale looking good in her tribute gear to Owen Hart during his time with the Nation of Domination. #AEWDynamite

She's right too, enough is enough and it's time for a change.

The reason that Willow one is so great is it's clearly a tribute to Owen.

Too many people rocking up to the Owen Hart Cup in pink & black. Sure, Owen wore those colours at times, but they were primarily Bret's. That "Danger" gear is the first one I picture when I think of Owen.

Bandido and his Super Dragon gear a couple of months ago, wish he'd slap a fan in tribute though.

Good shout, I LOVED this! Nice to see a shout out to a guy who has probably had more impact on the business than most realise.

Likewise when Kevin Owens paid tribute to him in his WM39 gear.

I liked when main event Bret and washed up former regular tag partner Anvil did an homage to themselves at Canadian Stampede by pulling out the old second rope elbow double team during the 10 man tag. 11/10.

One I cared less for was Triple H doing the Razors Edge to a bit of a pop on Kurt at the 2001 Rumble. Not for the execution, but because it convinced me that doing Chicos move was a hint he was returning imminently, and he wasn’t. Don’t get my hopes up like that! 4/10.

Maybe a bit of a tangent, but this seems to happen a lot - when Kurt Angle started doing the Ankle Lock it kicked off rumours of a Ken Shamrock return, I think maybe the Usos doing the 3D had people thinking the Dudleys were coming back, and I'm sure there's plenty more, where a wrestler starts doing someone else's move and people read it as a hint of that person returning. Has it ever actually played out that way? In reality, doing someone else's move usually means that person is so safely not coming back that it means the move is up for grabs.

Nakamura doing the Go To Sleep right before Punk came back?

That was a misunderstanding. They actually just wanted him to go to sleep.

I can't quite remember how long he was using it, but Kevin Owens using the Stunner leading to an Austin return?

A brief return, I'll grant you.

It wasn't directly used in relation to Austin's return though. KO wanted to change his finisher and asked Austin for permission. I think it was just a happy accident that years later they ended up working together.
