But what are its rivals in the coveted race for the worst angle of the 2020s? Here’s are two suggestions from me: NWA’s cocaine angle with James Mitchell, which allegedly ruined their hopes of a TV deal. William Regal’s bizarre departure message from AEW, in a reveal that was so stupid Jon Moxley knew he had to completely ignore it and immediately pivoted to talk about something else. The drug stunt comes close, but I’m not sure either of these top Smackdown. Any other suggestions for what might at least rival it? Quote

Just had memories of 'Retribution' (was it?), some kind of Antifa stable, and them having a massive showdown with the Watts (?) that was the highlight of their gimmick. Some match in some dilapidated house, Orton becoming a twisted Firestarter, the maggots on the ring mat projection, Christ they even did an intergender “match” between Orton and Bliss during the Covid era. Then you had their Mania match where Bray appeared from some massive box only for her to turn on him appearing later in the match from the same box with Papa Shango-esque black goo pouring from her head.
