assuming it's the same people as the PPV, bizarre to do the same match on TV, even without the cage. Only thing I'm wondering is if they have someone on Briscoe's team do an injury angle, so they can bring in another big babyface as the surprise final partner at the PPV, or if it's going to be the Don Callis Family backing up MJF, only for Andrade to refuse and walk out on this match requiring someone else on that team at the PPV (maybe Wardlow?).

It seems a very lazy way to reveal who all the partners are ahead of the PPV otherwise, just to have them do a dry run of the match first. It's already a pretty shaky prospect as a PPV main event, giving essentially the same match away for free first doesn't help with that.

Briscoe announces Mick Foley as one of his partners, but Mick fails to come out when his music hits for the TV 12-man. Backstage, cameras find Foley on the floor, having been attacked by the Don Callis Family.

The next week, it’s announced Mick Foley is too injured to enter the Cage Match at Forbidden Door, but he is here to announce a suitable replacement.

I honestly don’t even need a single bump from Mick. Go full Bret-in-2010. Backstage skit to suggest he’s been battered. Bit of brawling in the cage, and then MJF can take a flaming barb wire 2x4 for the finish.

MyAEW has started to add some Indie content.

Mixture of some full shows as well as individual matches featuring AEW talent, but so far they’ve added content from Warrior Wrestling, Create A Pro/WrestlePro, 1FW, Limitless Wrestling and Capitol City Championship Combat (C4).

They’re also showing the CMLL x New Japan FantasticMania event, but you have to buy that separately

MJF to Kenny Omega: “All you are to me is a mere mortal. You will never get Redemption.”

It’s coming home, lads. A Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay match, directly into my eyeballs.

Looks like MyAEW is basically turning into Triller 2.0.

Which I'm good with. Hopefully they can work something out with Stardom PPV's, but that's, probably wishful thinking.

I think Copeland misses the mark a lot of the time, in terms of being too serious a lot of the time, or every promo having to be a storytime lore dump, but that is a really good summation of why C&C work - they haven't just reunited and pretended they're the same act they were thirty years ago, it's the present day versions of those characters teaming together. It's not just nostalgia bait.

I thought that was the best Dynamite in a long time. Kenny/Zack segment was the weak point, and shouldn't have happened at all - that's a match where you put the graphic up and let the hype do the talking, you don't diminish it with bad TV wrestling angles. Everything else was great, especially the Mercedes/Hazuki match. I wasn't sold on them doing the 12-man tag ahead of Forbidden Door, but adding in the "if you get disqualified you're a man down at the PPV" stipulation at least went some way to adding some intrigue to it, and they actually worked it really smartly - there was so much brawling outside of the ring and big dive spots, which is all the stuff they can't do in a cage.

Don Callis' empire crumbling is going to be some glorious TV to watch.

History had people like Paul E and Bobby Heenan have massive groups but there was levels and limits, it had a top guy, tag specialists, a young guy, a grizzled vet, a big man etc, it all made a bit of sense.

The end of Dynamite having Andrade sulking at the back, Kyle and Kevin fighting for Camera space in front of each other like two brothers fighting, Okada not fussed at all and a World Champion not affiliated with them front and centre because Don wanted more money out of it all, it's gonna blow up and end up with him by himself probably begging clients to take him on. It won't obviously mean a face turn for everyone but it's gonna be people binning Don off when they realise they're helping him not him helping them. Especially when all his guys want to be next in line to MJF.

He'll come back in 6 months with a monster heel (maybe Doyle or Davis as they seem okay with him and how he's helped elevate them) but yeah the anticipation for Don just eating a ton of finishers possibly when everyone finally sacks him off is *chef kiss*

Might’ve just been an issue that affected Roku, but did anyone else have a sudden reduction of volume part way through the Omega & Friends/TMDK segment? Didn’t come back to normal until the Ciampa promo, which must’ve been nearly half an hour later.

Can’t believe they still have Mark Sterling on the payroll. Tony Nese is fine as a jobber and I can’t even remember who the other person with them was, but Mark Sterling is stealing a living

It wasn’t the worst instance of them having done it, but MJF mentioning Jay Briscoe’s death can fuck right off, the cheapest of cheap heat.

I don’t mind Brodido as a team, but putting them back together does stink of them having failed to have capitalised on doing anything with Brodie King as a singles guy.

Will Osprey cutting a promo will never not sound like Simon Moon on a drunken ramble.
Swerve was great in this segment though, probably the best promo he’s done in quite some time.

Swerve saved that segment. Even discounting the awful lad's mag banter, Ospreay's promo was a disaster, and it's entirely because of what a mess his story with the Death Riders is.

You've got the heel calling out the babyface for working with the people who broke his neck, while the babyface is angrier at Swerve for not saving him from a broken neck than he is at the people who actually broke his neck, and that pettiness combined with Will basically saying he forgave the Death Riders because they made him a better wrestler at the end of it has him having far more of a heel's motivation than Swerve's. Once you get to "Ospreay wants to win at Wembley", it's all fine, there's just all this bullshit in the middle, where we're supposed to get behind the guy complaining that his mate who was also attacked and injured earlier on the same show didn't help him win a fight.

Oh that little thing with Trent thinking he was going to be on the team MJF. If that leads to something and Trent doing anything again that'd be nice. I miss when Trent mattered. Get him back in OC's orbit. Slow burn a reunion? Has Chuck Taylor's foot decided to play ball after years? Get the real band back together.

I really enjoyed Dynamite on the whole, but Mark Briscoe’s messy promo ahead of the six-man showed exactly why he should be nowhere near the World title. The storyline between the two is taking a slightly better approach than last time in that it’s more about MJF being among the elite, and Mark Briscoe being the polar opposite - but he just can’t hold up his end of the deal. Slot Eddie Kingston in that role, however? Fireworks.

I’d also have been completely fine with Orange Cassidy going after the belt. Has he wrestled MJF before? If he has I can’t recall it, but I could see that being a really fun pairing.

Agreed, Swerve made this segment work - he was sensational. Ospreay’s line about ‘smashing the life’ out of his wife and telling her to ‘clean herself up’ sounded like something MJF might say, it was pretty gross. Everything else you highlighted was just dumb, Ospreay came across as the heel here while Swerve felt quite reasonable.

...but he already has..twice...maybe I am alone, but I don't get why he is acting like working a match at Wembley is the biggest thing ever? Granted he hasn't won the world title there yet, but "wrestling at Wembley" seems to be what he selling as the dream, not winning the big belt.
