It feels like Baby's First Forza Horizon? I don't mind it. The elimination thing is an interesting take. It's lacking a lot of the features from Mario Kart 8 like custom cups etc, which is a shame because I used to love just going for a series of 24 randomly determined courses. It does get a bit busy when you're in the middle of a bunch of 24 racers. They've done a nice job of making the world feel alive. The random challenges that turn up in the open world are a fun distraction. I might download Mario Kart 8 as well on my Switch 2.

Has anyone played Fast Fusion? It’s only £13.99, but it feels like an unreleased F-Zero game, I’m really enjoying it so far. For the price you pay - and with the promise of more content to come - I can’t recommend it highly enough if you like that kind of game.

…and actually, I typically don’t like that kind of game and I’m having a blast with it. I‘m yet to touch Mario Kart.

I've not got a Switch 2 but maybe it's best Mario Kart World is completely different, even if not as good. You can still play 8 if you want that, but I think 8 was so good that if you went a similar style you end up with a jumped up DLC pack.

I’ve heard good things. I got Fast RMX on Switch at launch and it scratched the F-Zero/Wipeout itch until F-Zero 99 came out.

Isn't F-Zero GX one of the Gamecube games for Switch Online? Oooh, Soul Calibur 2. The best one.

I'm seeing some good performance boosts for previous gen games, one's that don't even need a greedy paid upgrade. BC isn't perfect though, there's some weird stuff on some games.

I haven’t played a Mario Kart since the N64, so I have no clue how this new one compares to more recent offerings. But I’m enjoying it so far. Red shells are still anger inducing and I’m not quite sold on the free roam mode. Working my way through the cups is a blast though, and I’m sure once I start playing with real humans it’ll get even better.

Wind Waker is of course a classic and probably a top 3 Zelda game for me. If they release more GameCube games over the next few months, I’ll be very happy. Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion and Eternal Darkness please. The Breath Of The Wild update looks spectacular and I’ll likely get the F Zero-esque racer that Rooster mentioned. All in all, I’m satisfied with the new Switch, even if the launch lineup was pretty lame.

Yeah, I’m really enjoying it, I enjoyed MK8 on Wii U, but since there was nothing to unlock in the Switch version, I didn’t enjoy it as much. I also preferred the battle mode on Wii U, but I know I’m in a minority in feeling like that.

But yeah, I’m having a lot of fun with it - more so now that I’ve realised ‘smart steering’ is on by default - meaning you’re protected from going off the stage. I’ve turned that off. The open world feels a bit empty as others have said, so here’s hoping they flesh it out with subsequent updates as this seems to be the consensus.

Fast Fusion is brilliant as I mentioned, and Street Fighter VI plays really well - it feels perfectly suited to a handheld device. I also picked up Fantasy Life, which I’m really enjoying so far. I’m looking forward to playing Donkey Kong next month, and I’m crossing my fingers that Oblivion will shadow drop on Switch 2 this weekend.

Spent a few hours this morning on Mario Kart with the kids. Only been doing the Grand Prix stuff but it's as fun as I'd want it to be and looks gorgeous.

Always nice to have some familiar music in there too, although can't decide if that's entertaining or just lazy on their part. Either way it's always catchy.

It does what we need it to do so no complaints here.

Enjoying Mario Kart a bit more now. It looks great on the new screen, I never tried the OLED version so it’s a definite  big jump from the original not sure what people who had OLED think.

I paid for the upgrade on Tears of the Kingdom even though I have the Expansion pack like a mug, just so my wife couple play it as well. For those who didn’t play it on the original Switch it’s well worth the upgrade for how good it looks and plays.

As I never finished Breath of the Wild and can’t remember anything I’ve done or even the controls I might have to start again which is a bit annoying having put 100+ hours in but guess I can get my daughter to play too this time.

Saving Mario Kart for the kids so downloaded Fast Fusion to play around with this afternoon.

Took me a few races to get to grips with it but having a lot of fun with it. Just challenging enough that I'm not winning every time.

Looks absolutely gorgeous, especially when there's water.

Considering how much I love F Zero and Wipeout I'd hoped I would love this but sometimes the controls on these types of racers are just too much. This definitely has the balance right.

I'd say a real bargain for the price.

I’m really enjoying Mario Kart World, to the point it might be my favourite ever Mario Kart. I’ve bought a bunch of other games too, but every time I try to start them, I end up going back to play more Mario Kart instead. I’m having loads of fun with it.

I hadn't bothered with the upgraded online stuff but now there's Gamecube I couldn't help myself.

Spent a good while revisiting Soul Calibur 2. Probably the fighting series I've had the most success with over the years. I've never been able to master stuff like Street Fighter but this is about my level. Didn't take me long to get back into it and still having fun with it.

Then I went random and delved into Tetris 99. What started as a nice calm experience with some funky music ended up as an anxiety ridden nightmare. Loved every damn second of it. Haven't won yet but I'm getting close.
