Asterix even got a Konami scrolling beat em up in the arcades during the 90s. Was as common as the Turtles and Simpsons arcades in mainland Europe. Can’t recall seeing it in UK arcades though.

I loved that game, combined two of my favourite things at the time in Konami scrollers and Asterix but yeah only place I ever saw it was on holiday in Lanzarote so my time with it was sadly limited and never saw it again until I discovered emulation.

I don't think I ever saw it on holiday, the majority of arcades seemed to be football games in Spain especially. I'm not complaining as I loved finding a Super Sidekicks machine.

The Konami Asterix game was a staple in Clacton when I was a kid, I had no idea I was so lucky to get to play it. I had the Master System game which was good, and until it was pointed out above, I hadn’t appreciated how many good games the franchise had.

Some decent stuff on there if you can wade through all the shovelware. Asterix: Slap them all is a perfectly serviceable beat em up for that price.

My kids love asterix and I was telling them about some of the decent asterix games that were around when I was younger so I think they will really enjoy this. Cheers!

Rereading the books as an adult I realise there's a lot that I missed when I read them as a kid.

I picked up the PowerA pro controller knockoff. It doesn't have Gyro or vibration, but is an entirely solid controller. Does what I need it to. Responsive, and less than half the price of an actual pro controller at Game (£30). I've had a few of their pads. The one I got for my XBox One lasted heaps longer than my actual XBox One controller, and their fight pad on my Switch is pretty much a Saturn controller, which is one of the best controllers for fighting games. I've also got a Switch controller. They make really decent budget pads.

I swear by 8bitdo for controllers, less than £30, has rumble, gyro and Hall effect sticks, also really comfortable to hold for long sessions. Worth noting as well that your switch controllers still work with the 2 as well, I have an original pro controller which we use for 4 player MK and Mario Party.

I wish I’d known this before trading mine in!

I've seen so many pro controllers on Vinted because people don't think they work with a Switch 2.

I loved it, one of my favourite arcade games when I was a kid, just looked stunning and really satisfying to play. I definitely played it in the arcades as a kid, so they must have had it in either Bridlington, Scarborough, or both.

Few more confirmed Gamecube games:

Those are brilliant additions tbf. Fire Emblem, Pokemon XD and Chibi-Robo I think are all priced in the hundreds for a copy these days. Unobtainable outside of top collectors or emulation. Luigi's Mansion and Mario Sunshine are two of the best games on the console.
