Merzbow Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 For the longest time it was Kanye but fucking hell he's made it tough recently, it doesn't help that he's fell off with his musical output too as nothing in the past few years is worth defending. Same with Grimes. If either put out a great album again I'd probably forgive them.. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 21, 2025 Moderators Posted February 21, 2025 (edited) He's a complete fucking dickhead but I still got excited when I heard he was producing an album for The Game, who is another dickhead. As bacon said, if be here all day if I listed out all the rappers I like who are twats ... Less excited about him actually making his own music again based on recent output Edited February 21, 2025 by Chest Rockwell Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted February 21, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 21, 2025 Yeah, Clarkson's documentaries and Top Gear/Grand Tour are good, but the drivel he spouts in the newspaper columns about his politics is horrid. You can pretend it's a character he's playing in the car shows. I like The Smiths, but the majority of Morrissey's solo stuff doesn't really do it for me. He's kind of a friend of a friend due to a guy I know who was in the band Bradford. They supported Smiths and Morrissey on some of their tours, and one of their songs, Skinstorm, was covered on the B-side of Morrissey's single Pregnant For The Last Time. It's on the 12" version. Chico Torres Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Conservative commentator, author and journalist Peter Hitchens. Clearly the superior Hitchens brother. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 21, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 21, 2025 See, I'm the opposite. To me, Christopher was both much more likeable, and a much better debater, whilst Peter is a miserable old cunt, who spouts a load of absolute bollocks with the arrogance of someone who thinks his brother being hailed as an intellectual makes him one. And I consider Christopher Hitchens to be a cunt because of his later cozying up to Bush, although there were a few other things. Still liked him because he broadly fought some aspects of the good fight, and made that shit-head Anne Widdecombe look ridiculous. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted February 21, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 21, 2025 I love Kenneth Williams in pretty much everything, but he was a miserable strike-breaking old Tory. My brother absolutely delights in telling people how all of my heroes shot women, because I used to read a lot of William S. Burroughs, and listen to a lot of music produced by Phil Spector or Joe Meek. Quote

More than that, he killed himself attempting a fascist coup with his ludicrous cabal of ultra-right, hyper-closeted, young male acolytes. An amazing writer, but a complete car-crash of a person. "History is a record of destruction." EDIT: I mean, when you think about it, a lot of artists have turned out to be cunts. Hemingway, Steinbeck, Dickens, Gaiman, Loudon Wainwright III, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, the list goes on. One of my favourite artists of all time is Diego Rivera. He treated his wife, Frida Kahlo, abominably. Edited February 21, 2025 by Carbomb Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted February 21, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 21, 2025 Another one for Clarkson. Complete twat but despite himself very engaging. Quote

I've been considering whether to also include Robert Blake in this thread, who I praised as one of the best parts of Lost Highway in the David Lynch thread. Quote
Cousin Jim Bob Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 I figure naming sportsmen is probably not allowed as you usually presume they are dickheads and are surprised if they turn out to be decent people. I follow boxing and MMA as well which increases the chances someone you like to watch is a total cunt to almost pro wrestling type levels. In terms of celebs I have liked Gordon Ramsay since seeing the first UK Kitchen Nightmares. He always seemed a total wanker to work for but I admired his passion and drive. It does seem like he wants too help people on that show too. He is also very amusing when a chef or owner pisses him off and he goes absolutely nuts at them. I am rather surprised he hasn't been Greg Wallaced/Gino D'Acampo'd yet. Can easily imagine him being a total twat or saying fucked up comments to crew filming his shows. Quote

Funnily enough (and for reasons I can't quite remember) a while ago I ended up going down a rabbit hole of reading people's experiences of meeting Ramsay both as part of filming his TV shows and just generally in real life, and it was almost unanimously positive. General consensus seemed to be his TV work (especially the US versions) was just everything turned up to 100 but behind the scenes he was actually a really sound bloke. Lots of stories of him taking the time to speak to all the kitchen workers at restaurants he visits etc. Quote
