Hangman vs. Wardlow could be great but it would have come out of nowhere. Wardlow needs some rehab, I think. Some reason to connect again. It's been a while. And not just him beating up 8 blokes again.

I wouldn't bother. He's not worth the effort. I like him but he just doesn't have it as a top guy. When you have a three match series with Samoa Joe where even he can't get anything worthwhile out of you then there's probably not much hope.

The new American Gladiators hasn't been on yet, has it?

I could understand bringing Wardlow back and throwing him into the Men's World Title picture once it was on (particularly if it's a hit) but to do it beforehand doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Agree with this. Plus Page feuding with Wardlow this soon into his reign feels very much like a Kane feud. He should be getting some big wins under his belt, not trying to bring someone up this soon. That's why I'm not a fan of the Fletcher match this soon either, even though I'm sure it will absolutely bang.

I also agree with @LaGoosh. I’m really enjoying the Fletcher feud though in a way I didn’t expect - I particularly liked the comparison to Hangman going into his match with Chris Jericho and the general comparisons to Hangman early in his career - I think there’s almost certainly a wider plan here that will eventually see Fletcher crowned champion and that this reference was completely intentional. Fletcher will either pick up an upset win, or he’ll come close to winning but lose, helping him slowly realise (assuming they stick to the promise of doing it alone) that he doesn’t need Callis to succeed.

I can understand why people might not be keen on this match, but I definitely enjoy seeing Fletcher get this opportunity.

They're absolutely mad if they put the belt on Fletcher now. Hangman needs a nice long reign, and Fletcher isn't the finished article, even though he's come on a long way character wise.

Have to admit, this made me laugh:

Scheduled for Collision this week. It's the final night of the residency in Philly:

Nothing is going to make me care about Mone Vs. Riho. Piss poor build, if you can even call it a build.

Can barely be arsed with the woman's division, right now.

Toni Storm is great. That's about it.

That was a weird episode of Collision. I didn’t hate it, but it was definitely strange.

Firstly, I hate the Hologram stuff. Him grasping his head when the glitch appears on screen…it’s too dumb for AEW, which is typically grounded in reality.

There was a point in which The Acclaimed getting back together seemed like a good idea, but Caster’s slow face turn has been working, and Bowens seems well-equipped to be a very good heel. He was simply miscast as a babyface. I think this is happening far too soon, and Jerry Lynn being the one to instigate it feels incredibly random. And fuck me, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson being the pair to spark that near-reunion? What were they thinking.

And Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly in the main event. Yuck.

Okada is a very good promo, and I look forward to watching him being toppled by Takeshita. I’d like to see him have a match that is better than adequate, though.

Tables and Thumbtacks? Nice to see that Briscoe had the courtesy to inform the AEW graphics department before he did MJF, so they could make that logo for it. And it was nice of the graphics department not to leak the stipulation to MJF.

I’m sounding very negative here, but in spite of all this (and yet another big money tag match) I enjoyed the show. Even when AEW is swinging and missing these days, it’s still very watchable.

Glad the 2300 residency is over. It was good for one week but I felt like it made the shows look small and shitty.

I liked The Acclaimed stuff a lot. I'd be up for them having a short run as a team again before it collapses in violent fashion. There's loads of ways they could go with it.

I don't like The Swirl at all. That curly haired lad should be absolutely no where near television. Low rent and embarrassing look.

Anyone else not like the fact Eddie’s return is just being randomly booked against Big Bill on the PPV and not getting involved in the Death Riders stuff?

Perfectly fine with it. He's not actually turned up yet. He's hopefully going to turn up at the PPV in front of 10k fans that go ballistic. Get a win. Then get upto something either in the Coffin match or the TV after that will set-up something for WrestleDream.

AEW has had enough 2 minute random surprise appearances or returns. It's a nice change actually promoting a return.

I always prefer a surprise return over them announcing something to drive buyrates. I'm not that arsed though, I'm just glad Eddie is finally coming back more than anything.

I'm struggling a little with the shows at the moment. Very good wrestling but that's a given with AEW. The roster just feels off right now. They're just really light on the babyface side at the moment with Swerve, Ospreay and Omega all out (although Kingston returning will go some way to rectifying that) and 90% of the heel roster is either with the Don Callis Family or the Death Riders. It's just feeling a bit Groundhog Day and I think the last three weeks all taking place in the same building has contributed to that feeling too.

I actually really like Roderick Strong but he's pretty rotten in this role. His delivery of lines being like something out of The Room is a spot on assessment.

Mark Briscoe vs MJF started off hot but has taken so many detours and been so stop-start I've not got much desire to see it now.

Just throwing all of their women into a big tag match is feeling a bit lazy at this point, these matches have just blended into one the past three weeks.

Hopefully a change of venue and the Mad King coming back will give the shows a kick up the arse.
