I wonder if, given how much more confident they are now, whether they'd be willing to play with Cody's character in a way they never wanted to with Cena.

Slowly moving the fans against him, tension building between babyface Champion and crowd before he snaps and turns heel (dying his hair black in the process)? Yes please.

I wasn't as impressed by the show as I thought I would be in regards to how it looked. Outside of the intro and bringing Jesse Ventura back the production may as well have been an episode of Raw. Would have loved more backstage interviews, maybe a segment or something. Not to say it looked bad or anything, but they certainly could have done way more.

Enjoyed the Cody vs Owens match, and really enjoyed the Chelsea Green finish, thought that was superbly innovative. I had no idea about the end of the show until I came on here because the Youtube upload cuts off at Cody celebrating so I was like, what piledriver?
For all the years of moaning (from some corners of the IWC) that Owens wasn't allowed to do his package piledriver, there's certainly egg on their face now as it came across as the deadliest move we've seen in recent times.

Decent little show. I'd have scrapped Drew vs Sami and replaced it with more authentic backstage/in-ring segments to really sink home the SNME feel, but other than that no complaints really. Winged Eagle is still the best belt.

Does Cody return after two weeks like nothing happened? If so, that devalues the Orton piledriver surely. Maybe Cody in kayfabe has to vacate the belt and Owens wins it.

A really fun show on the whole, and realistically there are fun prospects ahead regardless of whether it’s Cody or Owens as Champion. 

Gunther and Priest have good chemistry - Balor has never been anything more than underwhelming for me, but I enjoyed the match. 

Liv/Sky was decent. I would never have anticipated going into a match like this hoping for Liv to retain, but she’s really found her character. Dominik Mysterio is like a reverse Chris Jericho in that everyone he ends up working with or alongside gets lifted up to his level - the chemistry he has with Liv is tremendous.

I’m delighted that Chelsea won the US title, her run with the belt should be a lot of fun.

Solid show, though all of the matches were relatively short due to time constraints and the bastard advert breaks don’t help with the flow either. I never used to care back much in the day when the wrestling wasn’t good/as much of a priority, but these days it can be a bit annoying, especially on a show like this and without PIP. I’d probably go with 4 matches for the next one. 

Jesse Ventura is still one of the absolute best ever to do colour commentary. Stood out even after all this time and despite his little knowledge of the product. He just adds a sense of legitimacy to it all, and his heel logic always has some truth in it.

I watched it this morning with SmartTube Beta, it skipped every single ad for me.

I thought the main event was pretty awful. The worst of Cody in AEW bad. Especially the ref bump spots. The fact the best bits happened after the show is criminal.

Other then Pat McAfee being awful on commentary again (am I made thinking that he was really good during that first run but he’s been awful since), thought it was overall decent, though I’ll echo others that it felt more like a standard TV episode then something really special. So glad Chelsea won, she deserves a belt and it’s about time.

I haven't watched any full wrestling shows in a hell of a long time but as this was on YouTube I thought I'd give it a go.

Two hours is the perfect length for a show. How anyone can watch any more than that is beyond me. Just the thought of watching a three-hour episode of Raw or whatever is exhausting.

Drew vs Sami I thought was fine. It just seemed to happen without anything of note. Sami looks fucking awful though. The state of him.

I enjoyed Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky. Liv looked like she put a shift in and didn't seem happy at all with that bosh to her nose. Does Iyo Sky always use Chris Benoit's moveset? I also like Rhea Ripley but I find it hard to take her seriously when her face is a completely different colour to the rest of her, making her look like the Marilyn Manson character in Bo Selecta.

The triple threat was another on that just washed over me and didn't pull me in at all.

The Womens US Title match was decent but never felt like it properly got going. They didn't even seem to break a sweat.

Kevin Owens was robbed. He is the true champion. Fuck Cody Rhodes. Was that ref that took the cross body bump a full time ref? As soon as he came out I thought he was a Performance Centre trainee or something as it looked like you could wedge a bible in his neck rolls.

Not sure what else they could've done? They stacked it pretty good from top to bottom. More than they would do on a standard TV episode.

We're only a few weeks away from the next SNME. Cody v Owens in the big blue cage makes too much sense.

I liked Saturday nights main event. I thought all of the matches were at least good. I wouldn't say that's a heel turn for cody rhodes but tweener surely?

Fun show, Jesse was rusty but still had the zingers in there, Joe Tess with the Mean Gene tribute, the classic ropes and the refs in blue shirts and dickie bows and Cody looking so damn good with the Winged Eagle around his waist

Booking the main event like they did absolutely was the right call, adds fuel to KO’s fire and you can easily keep Cody back for either Raw on Netflix or another couple weeks and do the rematch and title change either in San Antonio at the next SNME or the Rumble the week after
