A strange one today for sandwich of the week. Warm goats cheese, bacon, rocket and chilli jam.

Didnt quite work for me, too salty, but it was absolutely huge (waheeeeeeeey) for £4.50. 8/10

Last week was a cracker. Cheese, ham, pastrami, pickles, mustard, balsamic.

A 10/10.

I always have a chat with the head chef while having a fag, and he asked if I have any requests and I need to start thinking. I might ask for a cubano or a philly cheese steak.

Went a bit experimental today.

Cooked up chicken, so had two sandwiches, one with a mayo base and one with a red pepper houmous base.

Lettuce, cucumber, pepper.

Didn't quite work, but a good chef always tries new things.

Had a Applewood cheese, pastrami, smoked ham, English mustard and gherkin sandwich for dinner.

bread wasn't the best and I took it off the grill too early as I was so hungry but a 7/10 sandwich is still a superb thing.

The work canteen lads and lasses have had a cracking sandwich 2025 and Mondays are now one of my favourite days of the week.

Genuinely might be the best sandwich I've ever had.

The only downside was that I then had a 2 hour meeting and despite washing my hands 5 times they stunk of red onion and I needed a fart the whole time. 10/10

I've got to admit, the yanks know what they're doing with putting mayo in every sandwich. Absolutely unbelievable. 10/10

In no particular order @Merzbow

But I'll be honest, they've all been fantastic.

I fear this will reads as sarcasm, but it genuinely isnt. Always a treat when there's a new post in this thread. Low key one of the best threads on here, along with the cooking thread. Very enjoyable stuff. Looking forward to seeing more exciting sandwiches in 2026.

I saw this on the Sandwiches of History channel:

I've recently decided to try to move my office away from the house more often, and part of that means making really good sarnies for lunch to look forward to. This recipe looks amazing, and has been stuck in my head for a while.

I made it yesterday, and have just had it:

Whilst my reaction isn't quite as effusive as Barry's, good lord, it's a bloody good sandwich. I'd made it last night, so it had got a little bit soggy, but thankfully not too much, so it held together perfectly. Only thing I missed out was the lemon juice, but I will definitely make another one of these in future, so will add it then. Either way, this was delicious, not to mention quite substantial, and I highly recommend it to anyone, even speaking as a non-vegetarian.

An absolute BANGER of a first sandwich of the week at work for 2026.

Chicken club. Huge piece of chicken, loads of really crispy bacon, LOADS of mayo, absolutely handsome.

bread was warm as well. I could've eaten 5.

10/10

So I'm working a holiday site in North Wales to save money to open a little sandwich stall in Hereford for myself in January.

Is anyone interested in me posting while I workshop ideas?

Definitely. Be interesting to see what ideas you have other than the 'norm' that's always crowd pleasers.

Maybe start a thread so we can all help chip in ideas?

One idea I've always thought a sandwich shop should do that would attract business is having one of those donut makers that you see at the seaside? Seems most people I know love fresh hot, shite, donuts at the seaside and yet not many places seem to do them 'inland'
