Be interesting to see what ideas you have other than the 'norm' that's always crowd pleasers. Maybe start a thread so we can all help chip in ideas? One idea I've always thought a sandwich shop should do that would attract business is having one of those donut makers that you see at the seaside? Seems most people I know love fresh hot, shite, donuts at the seaside and yet not many places seem to do them 'inland' There's a hut in Leicester City Centre that sells these types of doughnuts. It's been in that location for 40 plus years. Near the approach to our market area, which is currently being re-developed. The business has even outlasted the fancy Gourmet Do Notts establishment that opened up fairly close by. The small hut sells various fast food items. The highlight however is definitely the Dougnuts. You walk up to the window and place your order. The staff load the hopper with dough. Machinery whirs. A perfectly shaped uncooked ring doughnut drops into the boiling oil.Followed by whatever number of doughnuts have been ordered. From the fryer they'll travel along a metal conveyor belt whilst shaking off any excess oil. As they reach the end of the conveyer they drop into a heap of caster sugar. An attendant, with the aid of a small stick, expertly tosses the doughnuts. Enveloping them in the granulated white sweet covering. Then with another twirl of the stick the doughnuts are deposited into a white paper bag and handed over to the eagerly waiting customer. They have to be waten whilst hot and are amazing on a hot or cold day. Quote

Members SuperBacon Posted April 26 Author Members Posted April 26 I've got really into ham, cheese and pickle sandwiches recently. What a boring post. But I have. Can't think of the last time I had a sandwich that wasn't that, but first time in the office tomorrow for a good while, and looking forward to what the sandwich of the week is as always. Quote

Slather of mustard. Scraggy bits of lambs lettuce to pretend it's healthy. Glorious. Quote
MungoChutney Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I was in Edinburgh today, and I was wearing a blazer. Both of these combined led to me deciding I was posh enough to spend a tenner on lunch from Pret. This was a chicken satay baguette and was pretty good but it's back to Tesco chicken and sweetcorn on brown bread tomorrow. Quote
