Didnt Alex Shane pin Mick Foley in that elimination match?

Absolutely he did. This was also a match where Shane was accompanied by Simply Luscious to get under Corino’s skin. Random as you like.

I heard Alex and Luscious had a 'thing' while she was over here. No idea if that's true but given Alex's rep it wouldn't surprise me.

Hard to say, but either way she was still getting booked anywhere Corino was, including popping up in Ravens corner (as “Scrumptious”) at A Cruel Twist Of Fate in Doncaster a few weeks before Uproar.

What's even more weird about Shawn Michaels FMW appearance is he was there as an unofficial member of the ECW roster, as he was negotiating with them at the time that would include him appearing on ECW and his students (including Danielson and Kendrick) getting work on ECW PPVs.

I reread Greg Lambert's first book a few weeks ago and he states they were an item back around that time.

Honky Tonk Man and Brutus Beefcake were on opposing teams at Survivor Series 87, 88 and 89.

That has to be the only instance of two wrestlers being on opposing teams three years in a row, right?

Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels are incredibly close but not quite there team wise.

Opposing teams in 2003 (Stone Cold vs Bischoff) but then 2005 (Raw vs Smackdown) and 2006 (Team DX vs Rated RKO) however a its a singles match in 2007 against each other that breaks the teams run.

In terms of concurrent facing off against each other at the same branded events in concurrent years, there probably isn't too many instances of two guys facing off so many times in a row. Would be an interesting quiz question/topic for sure.

Steve Austin shared his name with the Six Million Dollar Man for his whole career, except while he was managed by the One Million Dollar Man.

I was about to say it was a coincidence that two guys with the shoot name 'Steve Williams' were at the top end of the wrestling business at the same time, but I just discovered Austin's shoot surname is Anderson.

What I also loved about that particular quirk was the symmetry of finishes that involved the two with each other. In 87, Honky pinned Brutus. In 88, they were counted out together. In 89, The Barber pinned Honky.

Well, no. Twice wrong.

If you want to say that two guys with the real name Steve Williams were at the top at the same time, it’s correct, because while he was born Anderson (….. Anderson!!!!) by the time Austin had got into wrestling, he’d been legally adopted by his stepdad, so his real surname was Williams.

Today, Austin’s real legal surname is Austin.

The answer to this once again include Shane McMahon. He was apart of Team Smackdown in 2016,17 and 18 on the opposing Raw team was Braun Strowman every year.

That's not all. The Women's survivors matches in the same time frame have a few that were on the teams every year. Smackdown was represented by - Naomi and Carmella each year while Raw used - Nia Jax, Bayley and Sasha Banks. So 50% of the team remained the same for 3 years running.

This puts to mind what I wish they had done to complete the set leading into WM25 for Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels. End of Royal Rumble 2007 they're the final two. The following year they start the match entering at 1 and 2. I'd hoped they were going to do it again in 2009 and meet in the middle of the match and then set the match up for 'Mania. I envisioned Shawn coming in, emptying the ring, being left alone as the countdown for next entrant starts. Lights out. GONG. It's 'Taker again and they have another little dedicated section, with the next couple of entrants being bums who get instantly eliminated, before Shawn and 'Taker ultimately eliminate each other. Then the next year you have Shawn's story of needing to win to get the WM26 rematch. Unfortunately it was a bit of a nothing set up, with Shawn being involved in a weird angle with JBL and Undertaker just popping up in a backstage segment with him. And the 2009 Rumble had very little of note, so definitely feel like it could have been in there.

On the subject of Undertaker, one of my favourite quirks/coincidences is the symmetry of he and Kane's first WWF title reigns. Beat the company's top star for it following a shady finish, drop it straight back to the top star within a matter of days on the next televised show. Don't get near it again for years.
