Konnan stealing Worst Commentator of the Year from underneath Pat McAfee’s nose. Man sounded half asleep.

Vikingo vs. Chad Gable felt like a slow motion version of Vikingo vs. Kenny Omega. Still good, and he still hit all the flashy moves, but the whole thing was at 0.75x speed. What gives? Is he injured? Has he aged loads in the last few years? Surely he didn’t have whopper agents in the back telling him he needs to slow everything down? Konnan told me they weren’t going to Americanize it!

He's had 2 pretty bad knee injuries in the last 2 years.

Love that Mr Iguana. As did the crowd. Can’t stand Graves but he tried to make up for Konnan’s terrible commentary. Well, that was only the first match. It went on mute and I played music for the rest of the show. Made it much more enjoyable.

I thought this was a really fun show, every match delivered. I loved the presentation and the vignettes detailing the history behind the original Worlds Collide show. It made this show feel more significant and historic than it actually is. No idea what their plans are, but I'd love for this to become an annual event.

I reckon there will kids everywhere outside of Mexico asking where they can watch more of Mr Iguana today.

It was a shame that Konnan was poor on commentary, I seem to be the only person on the forum that actually likes the guy. He's had some pretty horrendous health issues in the past year, including a long stint in an intensive care unit, and it's obviously taken its toll on him. He just doesn't have any power in his voice anymore. Asking him to make up half of a two-man team wasn't the right idea, he'd have done much better as a third man, as he did still offer some nice insight into the AAA guys, to educate the audience about them.

Looking forward to the HILARIOUS backstage skit where someone just happens to be being filmed texting and then Mr Iguana shows up out of nowhere with his pet, does something WACKY and then walks away as the other person has to over-act bewildered staring into the distance as the camera lingers for too long on them because that’s the punchline to this comedy segment.

It will be about 3 weeks before we all hate this Iguana cunt.

Really enjoyed the show. I feel sometimes with Lucha Libre things can get a bit repetitive as the card goes on but this certainly wasn’t the case here. Would be happy to check out a bit more of some of the characters.

Konnan was angling for a scrap with Corey Graves all night.

“Ha ha ha Mr Iguana just loves to have FUN!!!”

There’s enough to be annoyed at in life, we get worked up about what might happen?

JUST ENJOY IT GUYS!!

I think it's more that you're referring to things that are very outdated. You might at well be joking that Hogan's going to put Mr Iguana in the Doomsday Cage match to steal his heat.

No one is saying that. But you’re getting wound up about something that hasn’t actually happened, and probably won’t.

They don’t do the “camera lingers on someone for at least 5 seconds too long backstage while they make confused/angry faces staring into the distance”? If so I humbly withdraw my objection.

(not even a punchline where he shows up and then the camera pans out to show a disappointed Ron Simmons making a cameo and saying damn?)

But in all seriousness my apologies, I am old and stopped actively watching WWF after 1997, please continue as you were. I recall first seeing AAA over here on the galavision Spanish channel  on t’old Astra Satellite around 1993 if I may be so bold to counter Rey’s “smoke filled halls” narrative.

El Hijo del Vikingo is what people who don’t watch Will Ospreay matches, think Will Ospreay matches are.

ive seen the opener and main and already think its one of the best PLE’s they’ve put on this year even with Konnan’s awful commentary and Rey’s terrible take on Lucha Libre now meaning something.

I genuinely thought Konnan legitimately (and probably understandably) took a genuine dislike to Corey Graves from the outset. Deliciously awkward. Very enjoyable.
